Many techniques but I am 3 for 3 with the paper towel technique. Place seed between 2 moist paper towels fold nicely and not too hard. Place in an airtight tupperware container and don't open it for 2 days. Place on something hot like a laptop charger, computer, game console power brick, refrigerator, or a heat mat. Check after a couple days and make sure the paper towels are moist and wet but not dripping wet. Good luck guy.

 

paper towel method works great..however, I think a laptop charger would be way too hot (unless mine is just that way) the heat from a heating pad on low works well

 

I have never really needed to use a heating pad but you can place them on top of your water heater and get roughly the same result.

 

I only used a heating pad cause it was around and seemed like the same exact thing as those heating pads 'ment for germination'..what a crock,lol.. advertising a 15 dollar item labelled as something different and charging you out the butt for it D:

 

my highest success is with rockwool cubes, so far 100% with all the seeds I have planted

 

A lot of specialized items are like that, if you do a little research 9 times out of 10 its just another product that they renamed and act as if it is a must.

 

whats the ideal watering for these? I've been wanting to try em out but I hear really mixed results.

Apply that knowledge across your whole life of shopping not just for your grow, its like buying brand name cereal as opposed to the bag version most stores offer, same product, different packaging and different price.

 

You want to soak them in room temp water for a few minutes, take em out, throw a seed in, and keep it in a humidity dome /seran wrap the top of a cup that you put it in / throw it in a plastic bag ... anyhtign to keep it moist.

rock wool holds moisture like crazy, so its very easy to keep it humid.

 

oh yeah definitely. Get twice as much of the same shit for equal or a bit less than the name brand.

I ain't trippin, Im no label ho.. I grew up on fruity-o's instead of fruit loops like alot of kids that are spoiled today seem to get..

 

haha thats awesome, I came from big family on one income so I got hand me downs and knock off of everything, I use to own a hat with a backward nike swoosh on it.

 

completely submerge them or will the rock wool soak it up like a sponge? What are your thoughts on other germ cubes? I've only ever used the paper towel method
