I currently do not have the supplies or conditions to transfer my seed from its wet paper towel to a cup with dirt. The seed popped yesterday and the stem (or root, first time growing so I'm not sure) has continued to elongate. How long can I leave it to do this? Is there a point where it will die from no dirt/sunlight?
you generally wanna transplant as soon as seed pops. as long it stays moist it'll stay alive, but only to a certain point i'd say a day or 2. gotta get ur setup ready and dialed in b4 popping any seeds.
The longest ive gone was 4 days and the taproot was as long as my middle finger. I had to dig a deep hole so the whole thi.g would go in. It sprouted but then got knocked over
Try and get jiffy pellets or rockwool cube. Just a medium for you to get started. Also try to get some cfl bulbs. Good luck -bravo
