A few days ago, i started germinating about 20 seeds. Today, when i checked on them, i noticed that they had all turned a very dark brown color (maybe from the moisture?) is this a bad thing? also, A few of them are starting to split open and i can see the small white root inside of it...about to come out. was it a bad idea to check on them, maybe disturbing the germination proces??? they are germinating in the dark and i fear that looking at them and exposing them to light was a bad idea...can someone tell me if the dark seeds are normal or if it was ok to check on them? Thanks , peace.
dont worry man, its just moisture. and try not to get too anxious and just wait a full day to check them, u will be happy with results, when the root tip is about 2 CM long, put it root faced down into soil about an inch deep
thanks man....when they get big enought to plant, i think i am going to put them in a soil/ peat moss mix...is peat moss ok for begginning plants? and how much should i use ?
Go easy on the peat moss as some can be highly acidic...if you have just regular potting soil that would be best for starting seedlings...oh and just to add to what Mr.THC said be gentle when moving them into the soil and do your best not to touch the tap root...Hope you atleast get a few good plants outta the 20 beans!
