Germinating another seed

  1. Well guys, honestly, its too tough NOT to want to try and give life to something as beautiful as the marijuana plant. I was grinding through some great green and got one seed through the whole quarter.

I will not be the owner of this, however I will be tending do it and trying my best to get the most yield from this one seedling. The stem has yet to breach the shell so I am ready to pick up the proper whatever to get this going.

I know that in most prime cases, people use foxfarm soil (or whatever it is), Metal Halide for Veg and HPS for Flowering. I am pretty much limited to what the regular stores have.

My last setup consisted of 4 150 watt CFL's, (i believe they are around 40 watts each). The plant did really well but unfortunately I had to chop her down early. Are there better lights for when the plant is in veg? Or should I use CFL's through the whole life?

The CFLs have different spectrums of light. You need around 6500K for veg and 2700K for flowering. So if you get bulbs in each spectrum, you can use CFLs throughout the grow. Cannabis needs more of the blue (6500K) light in veg and more red in flowering (2700K). That's the reason why some people use MH in veg and HPS in flowering.

  3. The seed just sprouted sometime early this morning. Took pretty much 5 days for the germination to be complete. Figured id update this with that info just in case anyone els is having problems trying to germinate a seed. The other seed i germinated before took only 2 and a half days.
