Germinated seeds, began to sprout, but drooping?

Hello folks, just began my first grow and was wondering if I should be worried. I germinated my seeds in paper towels, the tap root sprouted so I put them into rapid rooters, into a small container, sprayed them to get them moist, and covered them to keep the humidity. I put them under one t5 bulb to keep them warm and on a heated water bottle that I had to keep refilling to keep warm lol They seem to finally be poking out of the rapid rooters but not standing tall. Should I maybe try watering them? Or lowering the light? Or removing the plastic wrap cover and let some air get to them? Thanks everyone

  2. They look like they are getting too much moisture. I would remove the wrap and let them dry out.

  3. Damnit, and I JUST sprayed them more. I'll suck up the moisture now from the bottom and let them sit out uncovered.

  4. If anyone else has any other feedback/suggestions, I'd appreciate it

  5. dont actually spray them. water drops will burn your plants.... just rely on your wet medium to create the moisture in your little humidity dome :) if you think its too low, just add a small cup of water in there. the lights + heat will evaporate it making it nice and humid

  6. Thanks for the tip. Do you think I should remove the plastic wrap and leave them uncovered? I also lowered the light approx. 8 inches above the container so hopefully they grow 'up' towards the light

  7. The best chance for their survival is to remove them for those pots and put in new ones. They are already so stressed, if you are gentle they should respond. And you will immediately solve your over watered condition.

I use an eye dropper and give the area just around the seed a few drops. The tail needs to have the moisture. Also blow on the seed. You CO2 aids her and lets her know she's wanted and loved. : )

  8. Thanks gc, I actually just felt the rooters and they are pretty moist. Shouldn't I wait for some roots to show on the bottom/sides before I put them into soil? I have 1 gallon pots ready for transfer but I figured I should wait until they really sprout some more. I moved the t5 light about 4 inches from the seedlings, removed the cover, and put a fan blowing directly on them on a low setting. Hopefully I'm taking the right steps here

Well they seem to be doing much better today! I just put a humidifier on it over night and lowered the light directly over the plant and that seemed to do the trick! Hopefully I'll see more progress when I'm home from work tonight :) Thanks guys!

  10. wait to transplant to the 1 gallons until the sprouts have leaves going past the edges, then wait a day or 2 more. basically when the leaves go past the pot wall, the roots hit the wall. if you give it an extra day or 2 as a seedling, you will let it grow lots of roots and a thicker stem. they will thank you for it after transplanting by being less stressed and growing into the added medium fast. plus a stranger stem means it can support more leaves, bud and HAPPINESS( science is still trying to find the happiness in there but i know its there :D)

otherwise im glad they didnt die!!

  11. I appreciate the advice! And thank you I'm VERY happy they didn't die lol I planned to leave them in the rapid rooters a bit longer before I transport them cuz I can tell that they're still fragile. I just put about a shotglass of water at the bottom of the container before I left and also refilled the humidifier with hot water to keep them warm/moist. I can't wait to see them really start to sprout :D I think I shall start a grow journal

  12. Yeah you. They look much better today.

  13. if you can invest in it get a digital thermometer from a garden/hydro store. you can get ones for 25 bucks ish that give you temp where its mounted, a probe to run into the grow area for its temp, and a hydrometer build in to measure humidity %. 80-90 percent is a good humidity level while propagating. not overly moist yet still perfect for your babies :)

  14. Yeah I will definitely be needing a digital thermometer soon. I've been slowly getting all my needed equipment piece by piece. Also, my seedlings seem to be doing fine, but the one on the bottom left still hasn't sprouted leaves but the stem has grown just as tall as the rest. Is that normal? Any suggestions maybe?

  15. id assume it was just one of the more stressed ones from your earlier conditions.

    expert opinion?

Water drops will not burn your plants unless you have them under a HPS/MH thats sitting really close. Have you ever heard of foliar feeding? Noone would do it if it burned your plants...
Remove the dome and just give them light watering.. Your looking for short bushy growth anyways opposed to tall and lanky.

  17. They're all totally fine now :) Transferred them to 1 gallon pots from the rooter, gave them their first watering and they are coming along just fine. Not sure when to start the nutes tho... I also need another T5 lamp for it cuz they're growing fastttt. Hope everything is coming along well for you

  18. foliar feeding is also done with a wetting agent to prevent water droplets and on the underside on the leaves. and any light will burn your plant if it is being magnified though that perfect little natural magnifying glass.

Perfect Example: People don't invest hundreds to even thousands of dollars to keep their plants out of the rain in a green house just to keep a controlled temp/humidity.

  19. dont need nutes till they have a few leave sets and a strong working root system :)

your seedlings are living off the energy from their seeds still, plus your fresh soil. definitely read up on nutes on the forums. this one is my favorite: http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-marijuana-growing/374679-essential-plant-nutrients.html

  20. Ah a fellow seed grower. I believe you get a better end result when grown from seed.

The seed halves under the first set of leaves; this is the nutrient pack they are born with. They use this to begin growth. A survival kit from mom to ensure a strong start!

Most likely you will see this start to turn yellow and then look smaller soon. This is a good sign to begin feeding your plants.
