i was assigned to write an essay describing the parallels in orwell's novel 1984 and american society today. i was think about it a little bit and realized that the drug war would be a good example. anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?
wow, lucky u! this should be one EYE OPENING essay for your teacher to read... i believe the biggest parallel between 1984 and today's society is "big brother"... idk how much you know about the "new world order/illuminati/etc" but that book was basically released as a "fiction" novel, but in reality, depicted what was to come in our society, which is becoming clearer with each passing year... here's a good site that has a wealth of info for you, Orwell Today and an amazing quote i've run across in my travels is, "the answer to 1984 is 1776"
