General Organics and Veganics

    I am using the GO line with Hygrozme in a coco drip system.
    I use a 20gallon rez with a air pump

    After about a week or so the rez starts to smell pretty nasty.

    Is this a bad thing? or am i in microbe heaven?

    Also I hear people talking about people brewing teas for veganics.
    Is that what I am doing or do I need something other then the GO line and a enzyme such as Hygrozme.

    Lastly after a fresh mix my ph is right around 6.0 after a couple days in the rez it will spike up to 7.0. should i ph down with DrEarth natural ph adjusting crystals?

    I've never tried using organics in a reservoir/drip setup, but I have no doubt that you are breeding anaerobic (bad/negative) bacteria in your reservoir and lines - thus the bad smell.

    When organics are mixed with water, unless they are used immediately or aerated,(the organics in your lines are not being aerated) bad bacteria begins to grow quickly - thus the bad smell.

    Organics should smell good. (almost always, anyhow) When you start smelling bad stuff, this is a sign that you have some anaerobic activity happening and I personally would not do this. I have heard nothing good at all about using organics in a reservoir drip setup.

    Good luck. I'm glad to see that you are using organics but I just dont think that this is the proper way to use them.
