General New grower questions about light wattage...

    Im doing my first grow and i was wondering:

    1. What kind of fluorescent lights i need.
    2. if i have a limited area to grow how many watt lights would i need if i were hanging lights 1ft above the plants ( without wilting them)

    1) for vegging you are best with 6400k CFL or fluorescents. For flowering you are best with 2700k.
    2) I'd go by how many lumens for my plants to recieve (the more the better for flowering). But usually you'd get away with 100w for your first plant and then 50w per plant after that, now thats the actual wattage of the lamp. And you don't hang fluorescents a foot above your plants, they need to be as close as possible, a couple of inches away from the top of the canopy.
