So one of my close friends is getting ready to go through a GED program to get his HS diploma. I wanted to know if anyone has been through thy kinda thing , maybe dish out some tips I can give him, He's a smart dude , the reason he didn't finish was solely based on his absences. He wast too interested in school but he is very intelligent, fun guy to have a conversation with. Anyway, anything you guys want to share is appreciated.
The GED "program" where I live is a joke, you either go in and do the workbooks in the wherever the "GED place" is or some courses you can take home and do them. They don't take too long (they are split into quarters) if your friend buckles down on it works out to about 16 hours of solid work per full course, depends on how much time and effort your friend puts towards it. It's easier then going to school but the obvious downfall is time consumption. It's easy.
It's easy as fuck. If your friend possesses any sort of intelligence, it will be a breeze. I didn't even go through any of the classes or even study, I just took the practice test to see what it was all about, and walked in on the day of the test and killed it. One of my questions, in the Science section, was: "Fact or opinion; Black cats are a major source of bad luck" What a joke.
This. I know a bunch of people who are unimaginably stupid, and had absolutely no problem getting their GED. It's more about putting in the effort and actually going through the motions than knowing high school level material.
