I'm a 22 year old gay guy, who's also "homophobic" if you will call it that, and just wondering if I'm the only one (well, I have a friend who shares most of the same views as me, but he's a little more laid back about it).

First let me start by saying that while a lot of my "views" are somewhat controversial, they are personal. I don't tell anyone except close friends. In other words, though I am stating here that I am opposed to much of the "gay culture" (ugh, I hate calling it that), I don't ruin other peoples' lives by protesting them in public, or being a douche to their faces. These are mainly internal thoughts.

I'm out, that is if someone figures out I'm gay, that's cool. If not, I don't bother giving that info away, it's no one's business. I usually get mistaken for a nerd, or a hipster (skinny, nerdy, tattooed guy). haha.

Anyways, I can't stand gay bars, fem-guys, completely freaked out by cross-dressers/transgenders (WHY?!). Don't really believe that gays should get married, though if they get the right, I wouldn't protest it, whatever-- more power to them I guess. Had one boyfriend in highschool (that's 6 years ago), and haven't been in a relationship since (i.e. haven't had sex since). Don't think that gay guys over 40 should continue to "be gay," old gay guys are weird.

Anyone else in the same boat? Or am I just one mixed-up fella?

Also, let me try to save some face by saying that I am a nice guy that will give anyone a chance. I don't let these views keep me from getting to know someone. If someone is a quality person, I am always proud to call them a friend.

  2. Why don't you think gays should get married, when you are gay? And why do you refer to gays as "they" and "them", when you are one of "them"? I dunno, just wondering... One of my brothers is gay, he aint homophobic but he makes fun on the feminine gays haha.

  3. I guess I use "they" and "them" because-- I don't consider myself part of that general population. haha. I don't know man. I guess that is part of the problem. I don't want to be part of "them." Don't really agree with much of what the "gay culture" perpetuates I suppose. :/

  4. OP, are you sure you're gay man?

  5. No, you're just a guy of out the sexual norm who's conflicted by the views he was raised to believe in. It's a common thing, I'm sure if I were gay I would probably feel the same way as you. You're your own person, you have different views than other people.. Whether or not people like them, that's their business. Keep doing your thing, whatever feels right to you is cool.

Don't beat yourself up about it dude, human categorization is not something that should be done; there is no "norm."

  6. So why do you think you shouldn't be allowed to marry, if you wanted to, one day? That strikes me as kinda different, man.

  7. Um, yeah. If you saw the porn I watch, you wouldn't be doubting me? Haha. Which, oddly enough I don't view porn that often. Maybe once or twice a week, some weeks not at all. And, I don't really watch videos. I find porn a little overly graphic. I usually look at still shots (pictures), and usually the guys are at least partially clothed in the pics. Very G rated porn. heh. I guess that is another quirk to add to my list. Never really thought of that.

I've often joked that I am asexual, but I am starting to think that it may be a reality. Hmm...

I don't know. I think it's because of the type of people that you see fighting for it. They're always the exact type of people that get under my skin.

  8. What do you mean, like the flamboyant gay folk at the pride parades and whatnot? So you don't think that you should have the option to get married, because you don't like the activists or what? I still don't get that.
I don't like all of the pro-marijuana crowd or whatever but I still support the cause because I agree with the substance of the message.
    I don't follow.

  9. Yeah. I didn't say it all makes sense. I think that is just another way of me expressing my dislike of the general "gay" population. By having blind disinterest in the major issues.

  10. I'm calling troll.

  11. No trolling. This is actually my life. haha. No matter how illogical it may seem.

  12. I believe it... but to answer the questions, no I'm pretty confident in my sexuality, and I don't even have any gay friends.

  13. sounds like you are just jail gay!

  14. I can't believe anyone hasn't asked this yet.

OP, have you ever gotten some nice pussy? Seriously. If not, sounds like you need to give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.

  15. i think the word "homophobic" is downright retarded.

i am not scared of gay guys, i am disgusted.
yet gay guys are hilarious, so i don't mind hanging out with them.

OP - wait, you're a homophobe (according to you) yet you had a boyfriend in high school??

  16. That's not what people mean when they say homophobic, therefore the meaning has changed. The common use of a word has more bearing on it's meaning than it's technical definition, most modern linguists would agree with this.

I don't get it, is this a joke?

  17. i dig what you're saying. i just think that sometimes, homophobic is the wrong word to use. like when just a while ago, kobe got in trouble for his "homophobic slur", just doesn't make sense.

  18. I get what you're saying, "phobia" doesn't really describe the issue, but I think most people mean hate rather than fear.

  19. Yes. I had a boyfriend for a year and a half in highschool. We had sex the last 2 months of our relationship.

No, I've never had sex with a woman before. Though I had a crush on a couple girls in college... still hang out with the one sometimes. But she lives 2 hours away.

  20. I think he's just very confused. Poor sucker...
