Bio green here just released a garlic spray for pests and mould , I find alot of study’s online with garlic reversing botryis and more on squash plants , this products states you can spray it till harvest , it has no smell due to the extraction method polar and a polar it’s filtered through a flavonoid filter to take out the smell and bits (posh membrane ) It states it’s a sulphur containing compound of garlic Allicin and which is anti mould sulphur helps terpines , I’m recovering from spider mites week 4 and thinking about this garlic shit as it’s as simple as crushing n shaking for 2 mins (I don’t like the company but I do like the concept , garlics amazing and allicin breaks down in 2 days and gone in 5 so I don’t k ow how they store it as it’s sensitive to heat above 15 and oxygen and many other things (weirdly enough not light ) so I make it fresh and I spray the groom floor etc mixed to oil as it stops all bugs but can I spray plants bud sites as directed ? It’s anti mould etc lol
I’ve heard about garlic ipm for a long time. It might even be a knf recipe. The part about reversing botrytis I find very exciting if it works. This could be very useful to me for outdoor ornamentals. Cheers Os
Defiantly os , thinking my tomatoes will be getting blasted, I’m even thinking to spray the streets and bushes , I got mites as it’s been so hot I literally go outside and every tree bush and shrub in the area park shops street are covered in spidermite and thrips I was winning and battling them then I found that out , and that my chimney cover came off so I was sucking in from the chimney not my filter areghhh found a 1 shot kill for em accidentally lol alcahol and h2o2 it bubbles the eggs off and bubbles around them they die instantly was cleaning the floors down to use a mite spray but they died before that happened and leaf all perk up after spraying too also biologists use citric acid to inflate mites and raise their legs for microscopy ,citric acid is also beneficial on buds and leaves up to harvest and kills pm cycle and mites as well as a boost to plants massively There is a symbolic relationship with lactic acid and citric also that makes them both a power house together plants boost defenses like a mother trucker I won’t spam the benefits cause the list goes on and I’m sure you probably know this already lol Also the kreb cycle was interesting to read . and mites are prone to desease from bacteria and can’t process mollasses either nor can aphids and ants will move a nest , so em1 fermentation foilar is also a good killer (liquid glycerin also does same and feeds the leaf too ) But my latest craze is calcium wherever you spray this lol i feel crazy as it’s just calcium but cabbage butterfly’s will skip the cabbages and rabbits won’t munch em, hell the rabbits went across to the neighbours to eat , you would think the healthy plants would make them all wana munch but im even spraying the slug plants and the slugs pack up too , it’s calcium not acid but don’t tell them that lol, Calcium also stops blossom end rot in tomatoes , and other things ofc ,found if I load them hard with ca sprays their fruit doesn’t seem to rot , going to spray citric acid and lactic in the fruits this year one more lol ..garlic can be made into a thick paste or a spray with a dye to paint on fruit trees where a branch snapped or is removed this will stop the traveling rot that follows the wood on the fruit trees , orchards do it so I tryed it and it works was sick of half the branches going brown after damage storms so I put garlic on to stop it ,never thought to spray the entire plants , could have had some plumbs which was savaged to a point of leaf curl
I’ve also seen adding hot peppers, mint leaves, and other things to homemade garlic spray. Just be sure to strain everything well enough to spray. The spraying of calcium sounds like a win. It’s especially useful when you want to add calcium but have a plant that can’t tolerate neutral to slightly alkaline soil. For example plants that have trouble uptaking phosphorus and need a ph toward the lower end of the range. The foliar application of Calcium allows you to leave the soil mix and pH alone. What are you using for a calcium source in the spray? Hydrated or quick lime? Cheers Os
Yes, you can spray garlic on your plants' bud sites as directed. The garlic spray is claimed to be effective in reversing botrytis and pests, and it contains Allicin, a sulfur-containing compound in garlic known for its anti-mold properties. Since you have concerns about the product's storage and freshness, making the spray fresh and using it immediately is a good approach. The company claims that its extraction method removes the smell and impurities from the garlic, making it suitable for use until harvest. However, it's always a good idea to test a small piece of your plants before applying the spray to the entire crop to guarantee no adverse reactions.
Yeah CaO is a good and very easy to apply Also if I am allowed to share I found this interesting on precipitates forming https://scienceinhydroponics.com/2020/06/using-calcium-sulfate-in-hydroponics.html Fruit crops benefit from foliar calcium | Yara UK I know you like your reads some wicked info and Yara use ca and cao in high calcium products there also . And I have recently found out benefits of citric acid with plants foilar and root applications as we use citric acid it causes the chelation of minerals so I googled egg shells and citric acid and found 6% Calcium Citrate Foliar Spray delivers a source of calcium chelated with citric acid That’s a new one to me seems to be good though I am just reading about this one now
