Ok, I am on my first grow. I'm currently 5 weeks into flowering under a 400w HPS 12/12 and I have some nice buds coming in. Honestly satisfied for my first grow.

My next grow I want to get into "TRIMMING"? I'm assuming this is the difference between these two plants:

What procedure makes these plants different? The first one seems to only have a few colas concentrated near the main stem and they just grow huge. Seems more efficient. The second has a lot of colas but doesn't look like it would produce as much bud as the first one. Mine basically looks like one of the second ones except smaller.

Could someone give me a website that would go into detail about this procedure?

  2. Go buy this and read it. Borders has it! It is worth its weight in gold if you are gonna continue to grow Cannabis.

  3. There is no way to trim a plant to make it look like the top one. If you did it would be wasting your time. The top pic was most likely grown from a clone, maybe taken from that beautiful mother, who has probably been chopped up several times, therefore growing multiple shoots in every which way. If you want all plants that look like the top one, buds from top to bottom, you must have a veg room and flowering room. veg room for mom and flower room for clones. i am high so just rambling...fogettaboutit.

  4. yeh ones a clone and the other could be a clone, cant tell.
but it could just be down to not topping the clone/seed 1 & you end up with a big cola, whereas your cloned 1 is not symetrical and therefore grows shoots in an uniformed way.

ps;nice looking grow mate, well done............................................:smoke:

  5. I agree 100%. This book is actually a recommended text book at Oaksterdam University.

  6. Read up in the advanced growing section on how to increase bud by trimming, topping, FIM and other techniques. There's nothing wrong with that plant for a first grow bro! Nice job!:D

  7. U want a bigger yield, get bigger pots!

  8. Thanks for the replies. I just found a book I bought 2-3 years ago because I thought I would start growing back then and never did. Completely forgot I had bought it and found it under a bunch of magazines lol.

This is the book I have and it has great reviews:
