How do I take care of fungus gnat larva in soil? I have a recirculating drip system and the medium I used to grow was peat moss soil.
You can do all or one of these tactics: Disturb the top 1/2 in of soil and make sure it dries out well. Cover the top of your soil with a 1/2 in of sand for about two weeks. Dust the soil and bottom of you plants with diatomaceous earth.
Always had my gnat problems occurring at the bottom of the plot where the water drains. Once I started watering with no runoff they went away pretty much immediately. If you go this way, however, I recommend a full flush at 3 and 6 weeks just to keep things clean. Good luck.
