someone was telling me about how much of a difference in taste they get when using fulvic and humic acid ...saying the taste is so much better and without using it the taste is much more bland. Can someone please explain to me if this is true and if so how much and how often do you give it to your plant.
basically FA is a nutrient uptake enhancer, but there is plenty of it in soil rich in organic matter so the recommendation is to use very little if at all. i use it only when applying malted barely, which is about once every two weeks. if you're looking for a good FA product go with ful-power by BioAg, and follow the application rates to a T.
Thanks for the info ....can I add it to a compost tea ...I use super soil...tga recipie and I don't plan on feeding except using compost tea ...just got back into growing it's been a while
i would recommend against brewing and applying compost tea. most growers here on GCO have abandoned the practice in favor of just top dressing compost when needed. besides the fact that it doesn't actually do much to feed a plant (so FA has no real benefit here), to brew a proper microbial tea you would need specialized equipment and knowledge otherwise you are more likely to brew a batch of anaerobic bacteria. and even if you did do a proper job at it it has no benefit over top dressing, at least not when it comes to container gardening.
That's good to know I have an old timer I work with who makes the compost tea but I'll have to try too dressing next go around
