Question to micro grow gurus . Would it be better to use full spectrum cfl for flowering(or trough the entire grow cycle) vs regular cfl? To my understanding regular cfl bulb produces blue spectrum light (good for vegetation/germination) ,but full spectrum produces full spectrum (including red). would it make any significant difference ?

  2. There is no "regular CFL, you can get them in most common spectrums, not just daylight. You should use 2700k (red) bulbs for flowering, those full spectrum bulbs run at around 5000k, which is not as efficient as 65 for veg or 27 for flower. They are good for supplemental lighting though.

I just did some search online and it is seems like MH and HPS are cheaper(lumen per watt) to use on the long run I have found this 175W ballast/reflector from eastwesthydro $125 free shipping...(w/o bulb) It can support MH/HPS bulbs... But "unfortunately" ;) can not be used in cardboard box..
P.S.Thank you for pointing out .I was referring to blue spectrum florescent lights when I said "regular cfl".
