They do have the capability to, but the technoligy has been outlawed and cant be used by law enforcment. From what iv heard... but if not then id get rid of those babies of yours or just transplant outdoors in some woods, or you could cover your roof with tin foil!

 

It's legal to do, but they have to get a warrant to do it. The equipment is expensive as hell, so it's not likely the local cops have it, although there are some exceptions; there's a ton of pot around my area, so the cops invested in it. Like I said though, they have to have a warrant, so hopefully they've not found you... If they do though you probably won't know till they hit you with a search warrant, so if you want to play it safe I'd move your babies.

K... I live in the BC okanagan one of the BIG producers of BC bud and as far as I know they don't need a fuckin warrant to use their infra red thermal gear cuz we have mountains surrounding us which is prime to grow and they do routine fly-bys cuz i read about them in the paper finding and burning LARGE scale crops... I have around 50 plants growin in 3 plots within 100 meters of each other and it is not likely for them to spot them. So depending how many plants u have it takes a BIG crop for them to spot all the heat the plants give off in one area. Since it sounds like u have only a few plants I would not worry what so-ever I would worry more bout ur neighbors.

My mother's from Holland, and in winter they used to fly in a helicopter over peoples houses to see which houses had too much heat (no frost on the roof), and they were then investigated to see if they grew weed without "permission" or whatever (I'm sketchy on the laws of the Netherlands)

Thermal devices are not admisible in a court of law, so warants cant be attained based on that evidence alone. However if they were to simply lie and say "i saw him bring it out back while i was riding by" they may be able to raid you for it. However they do only detect the lights. If you have alot of light in one area of the house, then it will pick it up. Thermal imaging shows objects hotter than those around it. You can buy anti-detection foil i hear, not sure where. even if they did use the infa red they would never pic up 3 plants that are 2 feet tall on the radar....worry more about the smell then the flying pigs!

also if the way it picks it up is from the lights....how do they bust 1000 plant outdoor operations

Wise growers keep their plots small and the girls well dispersed. Only idiots put their plants in neat rows.

 

Well thermal imaging is used for indoor growers. Infared doesent work on outdoor grows because all of the plants are in the same location at the same temperature. So marijuana would not stand out. However there is new technology that can detect large grows. But spread out plants are hard to detect.
