Fucking new movies

  1. Bit of a rant thread here

How is it that they have only been making talking movies for about 100 years, and yet are completely and utterly out of new ideas. Like every other preview I see advertised, it's just a blatant/moronic ripoff of something else, or just a mashup of three or four previous shitty movies and packaged as though it's new.

I realise that there's only so much that can be created anew, after all these many years...but seriously, these motherfuckers are not even trying anymore.

    amirite?

  2. Ah, yes, I know what you're saying.

It is quite pathetic. I'm actually an aspiring actor myself, and all these movies come out and I just think "I would never want to be in any of these shitty films". I cant even call them films anymore. It's all recycled (but poorly redone) ideas where they hire attractive (so called actors/actresses) that are horrible and have no real substance or emotion.

We do have our decent films that come out once in a blue moon. But that's just the lifestyle these days... they get a quick idea, make it quick, get it out to the theaters quick, make a quick buck, and onto the next one. It sucks.

Think about this as well, back in the day, they didn't have to rely on special FX and such, what made the film so good, was the story, the plot, the way it messes with your head, or creates emotion (any sort). Now a days, they just use computers and do everything that way. It's a sort of evolution. But yea it sucks.

  3. You basically just answered yourself. Its rather hard to come up with new ideas when most of the good ones have been taken.

Todays society is appealed to movies with a Cool name, Cool actor(s), or Cool Things(Cars, Famous Cities, Beautiful women, etc)

Every movie has the Badass, and the Hot bitch/love interest. You wont find a movie out there without them.

Sort of, but everyone has ideas (some better than others), but as far as movies go, possibilities are endless. Instead of expanding, and going where no one has gone, they go where others have already gone. I don't really agree that all the good ideas are taken. The writers/directors just have shitty ideas and are afraid of going into the unknown, it's taking a chance. They go with what's safe, with what's trendy.

  5. thats why I watch documentaries most of the time. Least that shit isnt corny, and you actually learn somthing.

  6. That and Indie (Independent Films) are pretty good for the most part.

I pretty much only watch Indie, most of the time they are very different and distinguished. They seem to go against the grain. I love that.

Even when these "comedies" that come out lately, get rave reviews, I wait to see them when they come out on RedBox for 1$, then I watch them, and I just think "eh, it was okay, I guess?"

  7. Wish the era of movies like Scarface, The Godfather, Goodfellas, and Carlito's Way would come back.

  8. Its because the fabric of community is fragile and seeing some real shit on the big screen with the big names will make little girls gineys tingle which in turn gets mickey mouse paid. Now wtf is that shit.... Mickey is rich enough.

  9. i do not agree good sir

  10. Remakes of remakes, reviving old movies, re-releasing classics.

Hollywood is out of ideas, definitely.

  11. But ideas don't have to run out...that's the thing about this.

Everyone has ideas, but the ones that may have the greatest, aren't the ones at the writing board. People might look at a crazy (but good) idea, and think "No that doesn't go with what's trendy right now" and they deny that idea, because they want to do what's EASY, what's a guaranteed dollar. That's the problem.

  12. That's Hollywood. They want what will sell, not make you think. Which is why most of the great movies were back in a time where actors and actresses were classy, intelligent, and talented.

Just look at Robert DeNiro in his prime.

  13. ideas are just combinations of reality, that's why we can't imagine what an alien looks like.

  14. I've become so disappointed with movies nowadays that I really only pay attention to studio's "prestigious" films. The ones you believe must have been made to simply go to the Oscars. Other than that, I ignore virtually every movie in the hollywood circuit. I then focus all my attention to the classics and indie films.

  15. There has ALWAYS been shit films and rip-offs.. you just got to look for the good ones.

Quite a few films that have come out in the past few years have been considered some of the best ever.

  16. Greedy people destroy culture.

  17. Damn, I thought this thread was about fornicating recent motion pictures

  18. Teens these days

    :)

  19. Don't act like you've never done it
    :D

  20. Pornography usually suffices. Can't say i've ever had an urge to try and actually fornicate a reel of film.

Teens are certainly far more imaginative, i'll give you that :hello:
