when i went to high school, there was no metal detectors, no police officers, no school sponsored security guard, nothing. the way they dealt with the "troubled" kids was sent them to a different school across town. lucky me, i was sent there. there was a couple fights, nothing too big. they allowed the kids to go off campus and smoke cigarettes and stuff during lunch.
My high school was pretty bad. A bunch of the teachers would blatantly hit on girls and were extremely judgemental. One good example is this. I came out of the closet about being bisexual my sophomore year. My teacher called me a faggot in front of a whole classroom full of kids. If it hadn't been for the three guys around me I'd probably have been arrested that day. I'm not usually violent, but saying something like that just to humiliate me really set me off. Another good story. Got into a religious argument with a bunch of people I used to go to school with. (I was sent to a catholic K-8 school, and I came out an atheist.) They said some extremely bigoted, hateful, and just ignorant things. The most insulting thing that I said was that I don't understand how god could let terrible things happen. I got suspended for a week for "harassment." I left lunch one time to go smoke a cigarette (I normally don't do things like that, but I had been having a stressful day). The campus cop (who was actually on the town force, but was at the high school literally every day.) came up to me and asked what I was doing. I told him that I was going about 20 feet off-campus to smoke a cigarette. He asked if he could search me for anything else. I told him no because I had already told him what I had planned on doing. He came up with a story about how I had "reached into my pocket, as if to grab a weapon, and took on a threatening stance" so he could take me down and cuff me. In the parking lot. The school board backed him. I thought that was pretty fucked up. And here's the last one. About 20 black guys jumped me, and two other friends on school grounds. Only 2 of them got caught, and the rest of them said that my friends and I had called them "the n-word" and had tried to get the other two to fight us. The school didn't really believe that and just let us off with the consequences of fighting. Even though none of us threw a punch. But, somebody went home and told their mommy that they were getting bullied for being black and the school wasn't doing anything about it. So the fucking NAACP gets called to come in and start a case against the school district. That's all the fucked up high school stories I have.
yup. the chicago suburbs. some of the suburbs around here are pretty fucked up. My home town actually isn't completely ghetto compared to some around. just lower middle class, right on the border of chicago. I mean, not something I'm trying to boast about to give my town it's street rep, or something I usually even talk about, but when I was younger my older cousin was shot to death in his driveway. Was part of a wave of violence that ripped through my town back in the day. Had about 5 violent murders that were connected in 3 months. for a town of less than 20,000 that's pretty high. Just last week in my town there was a hostage stand off after a shooting. Two months ago, less than a block from my house, some guys drove up to a persons house and shot about 30 rounds into it. The list goes on and on. my town has always been known for weird violent acts. Was a Capone/mob town since the days of bootlegging. Actually fun act... Look up where Tony Spilotro (Joe Pesci's character from Casino) and his brother were actually killed. It wasn't in a corn field. It was in my home town, like 1/2 a mile from my grandmas house.
That means you go to a private school, and you should be happy you're priveledged enough to get such an education.
My school was alright, maybe 25 security guards (My school was huge, a little over 1,250 graduated last year) Every now and then, everyone on a bus would have to get wanded down and sniffed by drug dogs, because the bus would smell like weed. Freshman year there was like a 10 girl fight that got pretty brutal, and the cops aren't allowed to step in until the principal or one of the 7 assistant principals got there. Most of the bathrooms smelled like weed and occasionally entire hallways would smell, but nobody really didn't any unmentionables so nothing really outrageous happened
Actually, the education is no different that the other schools around, except for the city schools. alot of the public schools are much better.
The only time I saw police in the school, they didnt give a fuck. I used to cut class and drive right past the truancy officer and wave. Half the teachers toked, no one gave a fuck. Edit: Few years before me people used to "powder their noses" in the hallway. Zero fucks are given.
one time me and my buddy skipped first period and smoked. we came back to school with nothing on us as we just smoked all the weed we had in a joint and just threw the roach. cops came up to his car when we were waiting for the period to end for someone to open the doors. he pulls us out of the car and cuffs us while i'm asking wtf is going on. they say no one would just sit in their car without doing something sketch. so they search the car for pot tear apart his car our back packs and they ruin my lunch. find nothing and don't say sorry or anything. they bring us to our principal and under my breathe in front of my VP i mutter "go fuck yourself" to the cop and he goes "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY??" i give him my biggest puppy dog confused face and say "what do you mean?" my VP didn't hear and he had the same face and goes "no one said anything sir??" that was cool.. or one time i burped smoke in front on the main office lol one of the main office ladys just smiled and waved at me i loved them
oh yeah how did i forget this i guess some kids threw a smoke bomb in the hall and when everyone was out side someone fired a gun in the general direction of the school. other then this specific incident the school was pretty good
