Frozen Ladies

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by atwells98, Feb 25, 2021.

  1. Hey guys,

Coming to u from the Deep South, I’m sure you’re aware of the winter storm that came rolling through recently, well my grow is in my outside shed and I lost power for 5 days with temps below freezing. My ladies were completely frozen, but now it’s been a few days later and I’m wondering if they can still recover. As you can see they all yellowed like the leaves are dead? Can I remove all the leaves and the buds will finish developing? I was only in week 5 of flower when this all happened. Any advice on what I should do?

  3. I would be too concerned with mold to try and make anything out of them. Id clean em up now if you want to grow in there again. Humidity is a bitch in the south and it won't take long for your shed to get nasty.

  4. If they fully froze they are dead as can be. Cannabis is a soft leaf plant and freezing means death no getting around it.
    5 days of 25 F killed them.
Harvest and soon before they over dry and you'll really have crap. You should be able to salvage all of it. Early harvest it'll be on the jittery side but what the hell.

A couple of old school Coleman gas or propane lanterns have been known to save a powerless cold grow.

  5. Awww man you’re right I should’ve thought about a propane lantern! It’ll be fine to smoke or do I need to turn it all into edibles/wax?
