I'm 55 years old. Hadn't used any weed since the 70's. About a year ago, I went to see a doctor for a chronic backache (hoping for a perk-'script), she sent me to a chiropractor. That guy started sticking electric needles in my ass. One day I was laying there looking at the floor...my ass and leg muscles flinching from the electric pulses.. I decided to try some pot. Best move I ever made. Manages my pain, and makes my days better (and more fun). My wife likes me better when I'm high (although once she said it makes me a "chatty Cathy"...I asked her not to say that to me again). My son has some emotional problems. Weed makes me understand him better, be more open and sympathetic to his problems, and be more patient with him. So in a nutshell...weed controls my pain and makes me a better husband and father. Can't beat that! Thanks for giving me a place ro read about weed.
Glad to hear a positive experience coming from an older (older comparatively, but certainly not old my friend!) fellow. Welcome to the city man, enjoy your visits here.
Thanks for the welcome. There's a lot to read here, so I won't be posting much for awhile. Like I said in the OP..I'm pretty new to this, and I have much to learn. ..but right now, I have something new to me called "Durban Kush"...so I might not be reading much for awhile either.
Welcome to GC! As one of the older members here, I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to you! We need more mature tokers at GC. The kids here are great, and a few of them even listen to us "old fogies"! lol A lot has changed since you were toking last. Dabs, vaporizers, RSO, and the endocannabinoid system are just a few. But you'll get caught up as you read the posts here. I have something that may interest you. I collect medical studies and articles on cannabis and the cannabinoids, and I share my collection, "Granny Storm Crow's List". Here's what it looks like- From the "Back Pain section- Investigational pharmacology for low back pain (full - 2010) ` http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3004649/?tool=pmcentrez Cannabinoids and muscular pain. Effectiveness of the local administration in rat. (abst – 2012) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22354705 Pot a Common Remedy to Ease Back Pain (news – 2013) http://www.medpagetoday.com/MeetingCoverage/AdditionalMeetings/42228 The List goes on like that for over 1000 pages of links! Some of the subjects covered are cancers, neuropathic pain, MS, diabetes, PTSD, even trivial stuff, like hiccups! (Try it, cannabis works!) to get a free copy of my List, just check out the bottom of my sig and send me an email. Or, once you have a few more posts, you could also PM me your email address. Either way, I usually get your copy to you within 24 hours. Hope to hear from you soon! Granny
