Friends "Quitting"

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by ballamalla, Jul 17, 2005.

  1. Well the last few days have been ruff for me. By that i mean I have not smoked in about 4 days. My freinds have decided to take a temporary smoking break for about a month. Well whats the problem with this? I get herb through them and now since they stopped I can no longer get herb. They gave me a few of there hook ups but I have not been able to contact them. This has been a very disapointing 4 days without herb. Im thinkning about going out and driving around trying to find herb but I dont really know what to say to someone. I live in the Los Angeles area around Torrance, San pedro, Palos Verdes so there is a lot of herb. I just dont know what to say to some random stranger. Im a shy guy and just need some pointers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Just go look for a stonerish lookin dude, preferably white (Not racist I just don't want a dude to be messin around with some latino gang dudes in LA), and show him you're not a cop. The cop part is the hard part.

  3. one of my best smoking partners went to rehab now he doesnt smoke.

oh well i have others i can smoke with.

  4. whoa call the paramedics, 4 days without herb..
doesn't qualify as having a rough time, for me...

  5. Just walk around in a neighborhood known for its abundance of tourists and nightlife. I'm sure you can find something like it in LA. I don't know what it must be like in the US, but it's incredibly easy to get pot that way in Canada.

Last time I went to Montreal on Ste-Catherine Street, I've been stopped by at least 3 people wanting to sell me weed, two more tried to sell me ecstasy. Make sure you're alone, the dealers will approach you more easily. And maybe wear something not too conservative. I don't know about police presence in Los Angeles, but it was pretty much non-existent in Montreal making it a lot easier.

  6. dude dont worry about the dealer thinkin your a cop.. worry about askin a cop for bud.. lol i wouldnt do it its too risky.. i'd say wait it out and keep tryin to get in touch with dude man... i know its hard but.. u dont wanna get locked up over this shit..

  7. yo dude just hang in there and look for new people to smoke with, the kid i smoked with the most quit like a month ago and is stopping for 1 1/2 yrs

  8. iv seen the ways of the friend draft for me, the ones who i have been friends with and they stoped smoking i dont hang out with, its not that i dont like them just that my idea of hanging out is chillin smoking some herb. so just try to find other people that smoke and only good things will come.

  9. Man if you think a four day break is bad, Im thinking you should take the month off with him. My friend took a week break that ends in two days, I smoked him his final bowl and I'm taking a break aswell, just hang out together and do something other than smoke pot for awhile. Its not the end of the world

  10. Its all good now. I got my hand on some pharms and my friend is slanging again now. Thanks for your help guys.

  11. If you are gonna buy bud, ask the dude if he is a cop. If they are really a cop and say they arent then it's police extortion or something like that. I dont think you can get in trouble for buying weed (or much of anything) if they extort you into buying it.

  12. Actually, there is no law or anything saying that the cops HAVE to tell you they are cops. I thought that for many years, but have done research, and in fact, they don't have to tell you anything. They can even outright say "No, I am not a police officer." and still bust your ass. That's a common mistake in stoner folklore.

  13. it used to be law that if you asked a cop if they were a cop they would have to tell you, not so anymore thanks to conservative justices.....grrr.

  14. I live in South Pasadena, I could hook you up. I just picked up a dub of some chronic this morning.

  15. i thought if a cop made you break the law it is extortion... like say the cop came to you and asked you if you wanna buy the weed or whatever and you say no but he pressures you into buying it then its extortion?

  16. Methinks you might be talking about entrapment instead of extortion.

Here's the definition courtesy of dictionary.law.com:

    entrapment
    n. in criminal law, the act of law enforcement officers or government agents inducing or encouraging a person to commit a crime when the potential criminal expresses a desire not to go ahead. The key to entrapment is whether the idea for the commission or encouragement of the criminal act originated with the police or government agents instead of with the "criminal." Entrapment, if proved, is a defense to a criminal prosecution. The accused often claims entrapment in so-called "stings" in which undercover agents buy or sell narcotics, prostitutes' services or arrange to purchase goods believed to be stolen. The factual question is: Would Johnny Begood have purchased the drugs if not pressed by the narc?

  17. Unless he puts a gun to your head and says "Buy this fucking weed or I blow your brains on the sidewalk." it's not extortion/entrapment. You can always say no and/or walk away.

Cops don't typically pose as dealers though. They don't care much about the users, just the sellers. So it's more likely, I would think, for a cop to be posing as a buyer.
