freebie nutes autoflower grow.

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by romeolomelino, Aug 17, 2012.

  1. This will be my 1st journal. I will be using free nutrients I got by just requesting them from companies via email. The seed is also a freebie from SOS. I'm not sure what seed it is however because I spilled them in my lap tring to get them out of the pack.

The only non free items are the soil and pot. However smart pot did send me a free pot, just to big for this grow.

I will be using two 40w cfl's for veg and switch to a 45w led for flowering as I have in the past with success. Growing in a gl40 grow lab tent. Avg temp runs 71 to 76. Humidity 60s.

    #1 smart pot
Pro-mix soil retail soil from ace fruit and veg mix.

Seed is either a fast haze, Trans Siberian or auto bomb. I'm leaning towards Trans due to a pic I saw.
As far a nutrients i'm still thinking about it. My choices are i'm the pic below. I planted the seed directly in the final pot today. I will update every three days or so. I'm open to tring any of the stuff I recived so if you see something there you want me to try please say so.

This is just for fun. So please no freaking out because I mix something or skip a step please. I have grown a few autos now and have been very pleased with the outcome.

  2. lol, i can imagine, sitting down to open two packs of REAL genetics, go to open the pouches and BAM, they all fall into my lap....

    "shit"

  3. When you select "ultra stealth" when you order from sea of seeds they remove them from the breeders pack and slide them into the groves of very small squares of cardboard. All I can say is separate with care or they will go everywhere.

  4. lol, weed farmer used to use rubber cement for their "Stelth" orders, they would rubber cment them to the finger tips of the inside of garden gloves, and they would send them with a pack of marigold seeds

pair of gardening gloves, marigold seeds, nothing to see here ;)

  5. Well it sprouted today. Still good and moist so just going under the lights.

I'm going with the general hydro samples I recived as well as the bloombastic when the time comes.

  6. And they're off!!!

  7. I recived some new freebies today. Bushmaster, gravity, purplemax and snowstorm ultra by humboldts county own. I plan to try snowstorm and gravity on this grow. I contacted emerald triangles company and they were very helpful.

  8. Sorry I haven't updated till now. Had my gallbladder yankd out.
She got her first feeding yesterday with rapid start, floraduo a and b, Cal mag and floranectar. Half strength.
I still am unsure of this pro-mix soil from ace. Looks heavy but when you touch it its soft and breaks up very easy. Powder like. She seems to be doing well and looking like every other auto I've done to date.

  13. lol, the only thing i use is worn dirt from fishing night crawlers and molasses

    my soil is as follows:

2 handulls worm dirt (let the worms go xD)
2 handfull's east TN's super fetile loamy soil from outside (gets the micribiology going)

added to about 3/4 of a gallon mixed 50/50 with hyponex generic sandy potting soil and Peat Moss (for drainage)

never need nutes as long as i switch to 12/12 before she depletes the nitrogen from the worm dirt.
I always use molasses for taste during flowering, and occasionally ill use some epsom salt to get rid of stem purpling

  14. May I ask what you said to these companies in order to get free nutes? That's awesome lol and it seems like you received a ton.

I asked them if I could have some free samples. Most sent them to my local hydro store. I tried to buy something while I was there to return the favor ya know and some sent them straight to my home. Fyi soil companies don't give anything even if you offer to pay for shipping.

I run straight 20 hours. Soil, I try to go light. Autos don't need much to start with. I just started my own compost and hope to be using "homegrown" stuff soon.

  17. lol, i also forgot to mention i put an inch of fish tank gravel in the bottoms of my pots, helps drainage and air prunes the roots as they grow lower (never have to worry about roots coming out the bottom)

  18. Good idea man. I've been using smart pots just for that reason. I will try that next time I use a plastic pot.

it works a hoot man... roots hit the sides of the plastic pot and travle downwards anyway, keeps it from getting root bound in my 1 gallon pots which are the tallest i can use in my current setup

just make sure the gravel is decent size but too big and roots grow through it too quick and come out the bottom anyway, too small and the same thing happens because not enough air penetrates and the rocks tend to stay moist

  20. Not much new to report. Fed her tonight full strength. I don't think it will burn. 600 ppm is none to hot.
