  1. I'm sure alot of you have seen this on Facebook or whatnot but I figured that it couldnt hurt to repost this

"SAYREVILLE NEW JERSEY ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER IS CLOSING DUE TO SANDY. THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH ANIMALS AND ARE GIVING THEM AWAY FOR FREE. TELL YOUR FRIENDS, POST ON FACEBOOK, WHATEVER YOU CAN DO, PLEASE, THEY ARE GOING TO EUTHANIZE THE LITTLE PUPS, KITTYS, BEATIFUL DOGS AND CATS THEY CAN’T SAVE. THE ANIMALS ALL HAVE THEIR SHOTS AND THEY'RE FREE AND QUICK ADOPTIONS.

This is effective December 31st - ~3 1/2 weeks away. Just the fact that it is going to happen over the holidays just makes it THAT much more heartbreaking. I'm going to go and pick up one of them and save a life. Dat feel I'll have over Christmas when I'm watching her/him play with my little nephews is going to be pretty great.

Come on guys, find it somewhere inside of you to do something good for the animals that are among the most selfless and helpless creatures on this planet.

Call and ask for Barbara or Jean at (732) 727-3895 or you can just stop in at

  2. Sounds like a good idea. My sisters have been begging for a new pet for months now. It's effective until the 31st or begins the 31st?

  3. Yeah I saw this on facebook actually.. I would seriously consider adopting one of them by my mom won't let me. Not sure if I could afford food for a pet anyway

  4. It's effective until the 31st. If you go through with it, pleast post pics.

I'm about an hour away in Philly and might pick up a puppy. I wish more shelters did shit like this as opposed to just putting animals down.

  5. This is awesome anyone who lives there should definitely help these animal out and get a free friend :)

  6. Yeah I just asked my mother if she would want another kitty (we have 3 lmao) and she said no... But don't worry I won't let up lol, she's a cat freak so it shouldn't be TOO hard to break her down in the next couple weeks!

  7. I would do it if I was out there. Cats especially are so easy to own. Come on people save some lives!

  8. Don't let up. Let her know that they will be killed, if they arent adopted. I'm trying to convince my mom too so I'm in the same boat LMAO

Realistically, with the large size of the NYC/NJ market combined with the rapid rate that this is going around the internet, the kittens/puppies will probably all be adopted with ease but it never hurts to still promote it.

  9. FREE PUPPIES?

Idk if could make the trip or not living in Massachusetts... But I'd imagine free animals wouldn't take 3 1/2 weeks to clear out.

  10. damn, I already have a dog and a cat in a small apartment, telling all my friends and family though didn't hear about this till now OP I'm sure it wont be too hard to convince at least one buddy to take in an animal :D:D:D

  11. I wish I was there, I would take them all.

  12. I'm out on the west coast, or I'd help out. Hope they all find a home!

  13. I have 3 cats, otherwise I'd be there.

Everyone who is able, adopt a kitty so that my hormonal brain doesn't make me cry over this shit when I think about it.

  14. Update!!!!! Just went to their facebook page and copied their last status:

FRIENDS THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR CONCERN. THIS PHOTO HAS BEEN CIRCULATING ON FACEBOOK AND WE WOULD LIKE TO CLEAR IT UP. IT IS TRUE THAT OUR SHELTER IS CLOSING. IT IS NOT TRUE THAT OUR ANIMALS ARE GOING TO BE EUTHANIZED! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A NO KILL SHELTER AND ALWAYS PLANNED TO REMAIN A NO KILL SHELTER UNTIL THE VERY END. TO THE PERSON THAT DID CREATE THIS PHOTO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WISE FIRST TO GET
YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE STARTING VICIOUS RUMORS, AND IT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED A GREAT DEAL HEART ACHE & STRESS FOR OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. AS OF TODAY, 12/5/12 ALL ANIMALS HAVE BEEN PLACED IN HOMES, THANKS TO ALL THE CARING PEOPLE THAT CAME OUT TO SUPPORT OUR SHELTER AND ADOPTED A CAT OR A DOG. OUR SHELTER WILL NO LONGER BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS OF THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6. YOU CAN STILL REACH US BY PHONE, AND IF BY CHANCE A FEW ANIMALS ARE RETURNED OR LEFT BEHIND AT OUR SHELTER DOOR, WE WILL LET YOU KNOW AND POSSIBLY OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. OUR PET POSTINGS WILL BE KEPT CURRENT ONLINE @ SAYREVILLE.PETFINDER.COM.

JUST BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE PETS UP FOR ADOPTION ANYMORE DOES NOT MEAN THAT OTHER SHELTERS DON'T NEED HELP AS WELL. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT PETS ALL OVER ARE IN NEED OF HOMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS, VISIT NEAREST ANIMAL SHELTER TODAY AND TAKE ONE HOME IN OUR HONOR.

All the animals are safe! :D

  15. Royk, thanks, because I was for real about to cry.
