I was reading about the Greek system in North America and it seems like a great college experience. A fraternity looks like the perfect place to get high, drunk, and just have a lot of fun. I also started watching that show "Greek" and it just adds to my beliefs. So my question is: How many of you were/are in a fraternity/sorority in college?
Don't do it.........Watching a fictional TV show is probably not the best thing to get information from either haha.
My friend talks about it all the time. He said the initiation was pretty bad but now that hes in he has people to chill and smoke with and the parties are crazy.
My girl was the pres of her sorority. Its good for networking and havin things to do keeping you busy. Nevrr been into the whole frat scene though. Some cool peeps but most seemed like they had to prove themselves constantly. Braggin about their degrees and shit lol. Not for me lol
Absolutely. Plus you don't always have to party at your frat. You can go and do whatever you want. YOU'RE FREE!!!!!!!!!
I rushed, saw what it was really about and said fuck, I'll just save some money and make friends worth while on my own time. That being said, I'm sure some are cool.
Kinda like paying for friends.. and along with that getting hazed aint too fun. Just dumb, because the 'pledges' restart the order by hazing the next pledges just because they got hazed as well. I think it is a dumb system, and really not worth it. Sure, you always have a party if that is what you want, but you can always find a party without being in one as well. On the plus side like someone said though, it is a great way to network and you do meet a lot of people. Also a lot easier to meet girls because of socials etc. A lot of my friends from home are in greek life, but personally, I would never join. Some people change for the worse..
This guy has obviously never actually been part of the brotherhood that is the fraternity. If your goal is to meet/have a ton of friends to chill/party with and slay women on a nightly basis, join one.
I can agree with the greek system at big schools, as it is easier to increase your social circle, great for networking, and sounds like a lot of fun. at small schools, I am adamantly against it though, based off of personal experience. the pledging process is not only demeaning, but painful and dangerous. not only that, but it divides what is already a small community.
yeah you do suck a lot of cock to get into many frat houses. maybe even take it up the ass. to each their own
