Foxtail issue

Got some foxtails going on. Just started week 10 of flower. I know there’s nothing I can do at this point and from what research I’ve done it’s good foxtailing if there is such a thing it just really became visible around week 8. It’s Gorilla Cookies and a Sativa pheno so I’m guessing it’s genetic since it appeared so late. At this point why doesn’t matter as much as what’s next. Any tips on the harvest? It seems like it’s slowing the trichromes from going cloudy too. Any input would be appreciated

  2. I honestly don’t mind foxtailing. I seem to get it with certain strains more than others. I would just watch the trichs. I’ve never noticed the foxtailing slowing the ripening but I guess it would make sense.
    Nice bud.

  3. Thanks for the reply. It’s my first indoor grow I’ve grown outdoors twice so my experience is far from extensive. I’ve never had this before I had to do some research just to figure out what it was. Any tips on trimming it looks like it may be challenging? And thank you for the compliment I’m absolutely thrilled with the results

  4. You’re certainly doing a great job. I just trim around it as it is actually bud. I look at it as more to smoke lol.
I’ve been growing indoors about 15 years. I’m still learning my friend.

  5. Wow thanks! I really wasn’t planning on growing but one thing led to another and I wound up jumping in with both feet lol. I’m disabled after a work accident and it helps with the pain tremendously. Also helps fill my day. Do you trim wet or dry?

  6. I’m also on disability, it sucks right. RA is my culprit.
I trim dry now. I used to trim wet but it’s much easier dry. It seems to help the bud keep it’s nice shape as well.

  7. What were your temps like in flower.
I've gotten those off shoots of buds as a result of heat/light stress . I don't think it slows trichome progression. I just take it as a sign to rein my environment in a little better. But hey it worked and looks great. Congratulations on your impending harvest. Very satisfying smoking your own bud.

  8. Thanks a lot. The temps stayed in the 80-84 range lights on during flowering and it is a little close to the light. I’m using 1000w HPS. I reasoned that it was genetics since it showed up so late in the cycle but any or all of the three could be at fault

  9. I have always trimmed dry as well but I was at a growers expo recently and I was asked the question and it set off quite the discussion both ways lol

  10. Could be a heat temp issue. Not saying it is, but could be an issue. Heat stress can cause foxtails. But as someone else has said, it could just be the strain

  11. Yeah I’m just not sure. It’s a Gorilla Glue variation which is notorious for that and it’s also a Sativa pheno which I’ve been told is also more likely to do that. My next grow will tell me more about how I’m doing

  13. That’s what I’ve heard thanks for confirming it. So it probably is genetic
