i was just wondering if its ok to use foxfarm ocean at sedling and through vegatative and flowering stages. Also if i use this soil do i need to add any fertz?
it's fine for seedlings, and it should have enough nutes for at least a few weeks of veg but after that you'll have to start adding nutes
You may want to mix in some extra perlite. I used the FFOF right out of the bag - plants did well enough, but if I were to do it again, I'd mix in some perlite.
FFOF is good for all stages of growth. I have read some feel it may a be a touch hot for germination, but I have used it w/ great success. I am presently using the Happy Frog soil b/c it is $5 cheaper and gives you .5 cu ft more. It is working very well. I will agree that some more perlite can be added. I personally do not do it, but it can't hurt. As for feeding, I usually begin to feed during second week of veg if needed. Plants will show ealry wanring signs of nute defs regardless of strain. Some nute defs show earlier than others, and certain strains show quicker than others depending on sensitivity. less
