I went to my local hydro shop today and got a bottle of FoxFarm big bloom. I was wondering, is the level of NPK supposed to be so little? it says 0.01 - 0.3 - 0.7. Is this right? seems to me it should be higher considering what people say about it that it makes a huge difference. The other fert i am using is 16-18-20. Its all i could get at the time and it seems to be working just fine. Is there a reason some ferts are just a fraction of others but claim to be the better product? If anybody could help me clear this up, i would be grateful. thank you peace
big bloom is good for roots and keepin slat build up to a min.i go foxfarm all the way but thats just me whats the name of your ferts
Up till now i was using MG. It worked great, i havent had any problems and plant grew rather quick, it is under cfl and shop light now but by next week it will be under a 400 watt, flowering, i hopefully i will have some new clones going under the cfls. I was also usong vf-11 which is a cheap plant food, but not classified as that, i has no npk amounts listed because for some reason its not fertilizer they say. Its good stuff, brings my ph to the right levels and contains minerals that you dont find in most ferts. I want to try using the more high end stuff now i know where a good hydro store is. What should i use for veg and what for flowering? any suggestions? thanks
The amounts are like that because it's not a 1shot system. If you look at their chart, they call for different amounts of different product at specific times. This is all catered to the plants life cycle. During certain phases, it uses more of one nute than others. It's the MIX that is the overall food, if you only feed the plant 1 of the 3 (or however many the manufacturer calls for) nutes that are called for then it's like sitting down to a meal and there's no steak, no potato, just veggies. You should use the whole line or at least fill in the gaps with another product
Big Bloom is not really meant as a fertilize in the sorts of "this is a veg nute" and "this is a flower nute". Big Bloom is a supplement to Grow Big and Tiger Bloom. Those two are the "veg" and "flower" nutrient, Big Bloom is just used to stimulate growth and do different things. It also has a lot of micro nutrients, and other little goodies. It's not meant to be a key supplier of nitrogen phosphorus, or potassium, only to help the plant with using the nutrients. Big Bloom is great because when used correctly you can use it as soon as the coty's open up without burning your plants. That's right, I said it, if you use it in very small applications you can use it before they get a leaf set grown in. It will not burn your plants if used at a low amount, and will help your roots and stem start off strong. Two weeks of big bloom/hygrozyme, then I follow the Fox Farm feeding schedule with the trio AND the salts. All I can say is, I love it.
is there a "guide" or something as to what fox farm nutes and when to use them? I am new to all this growing shit, and just got lucky on my first one i think. I am willing to buy the right nutes, just not sure what to use when. thanks!
