Four Pretty Girls...Well, Two (Pics)

Discussion in 'Plant Problems: Pests, Disease & Deficiencies' started by KaliKaya, Mar 1, 2007.

  1. These four clones were from a dispenserie in LA. They were all rooted and they were put into 12x12 in. pots with earth-grow organic soil with no nutrients added. They are sitting under a 400 HPS light in a bedroom closet that is approx. 3x6 ft. They are running on an 18/6 hour light cycle, standard watering (after the first week organic bat guano was added to the water containing 10-2-0 at recommended strenght for small plants [one tbsp. per gallon]), good drainage (with the perlite soil mixture). All four have been under the lights for about 2 weeks now. I have enough fans for sufficiet air flow and the doors are able to remain open ensuring the closrt does not get too hot.

Two of them are just visibally much stronger and are showing unhealthy signs whatsoever.

The other two have not grown more than an inch in two weeks. On these particular ladies, the leaves are a spotty yellow color, and overall have just stunted in growth.

    Pics included.

Open to any opinions that may be choking off my lesser two plants. Not expecting much as of now, but these girls could use some help, and I am wondering how to try and give it to them.

  2. the second pic shows maaaajor burn...from nutes or lights or something..

  3. looks more like pH problems to me , whats the pH of your soil &/or run-off?

  4. I too beleive its a PH issue

whats the PH of your water and the soil runoff

  5. the pH of the water is between 5.5 and 6.8 adjusted by a pH kit.

How do I go about testing the pH of the soil and the runoff? pH paper??

  6. OK if your water gets as low as 5.5 thats acidic, your water needs to be corrected to a range of 6.5-6.8 everytime, before you water the plants

to correct the PH of your water use PHup & PHdown.... available @ hydro shops, internet, etc etc

    PH Runoff test
pour PH corrected water (a range of 6.5-6.8) into the pot, as the water passes thru the pot and runs out the bottom, this is the runoff water we need you to test next, then post the results.

  7. Type-O on the last one, my bad. I keep it 6.5-6.8 with the PH UP & DOWN solutions. Stick with me here- test the run off after watering with the PH paper correct? Seems like it would be far to dirty to test with the kit.

  8. who thinks that the plant in the second picture is a total loss? Should i keep working on it?

  9. there never a total loss till thier dead, use this experience to learn something about growing this weed, its necessary if you intend to be sucessfull at this

and yes test the runoff water as described ... the second and more accurate way is get a spoonfull of soil from a few inches down in the pot mix with water to make a slurry and read the surry PH

  10. thanks for your help Ganja Guerrila. i will be moving these girls to a a grow journal as they enter flowering. PEace
