I found four 40 watt 4 foot General Electric F40 fluoros. Like the shop light kind. Does anyone know the lumens on these, and would they be good for veggie, for 4 plants?
Allow me guys, In response to your post Whodi, when dealing with fluros, not only is the wattage important, but the Kelvin rating. 6500k for veg, and 3000k for flower. Did you find a fixture for these as well? Chances are your better off buying new ones that youll know what they are and how many youll need. 40 watts covers about 1 square foot. Bulbs also lose thier lumens over time, so again, better off buying new ones, thier not expensive.
Good, that should get atleast a few going for ya. Do the fixtures have reflectors? Have you decided on a light cycle?
I'm just going to use my 400 watt MH/HPS system. I was considering using fluoros, to reduce heat, for veggie, but these bulbs probably arent the best. And I've done spent over $500 for seeds, lights, supplies, etc.. so I don't feel like going out to get any new bulbs and stuff. I should be good to go with the MH/HPS. Thanks
