Is there any way to do it.....7 weeks old....both female..... i want them to start flowering Todays light is 12 hours and 51 minutes....although the plants only get about 11-12 hours I just started last week giving them Fox Farm Open Sesame.... NPK - 5-45-19 EDIT: Bagseed strain unknown
throw her in the closet for a day or two, she'll freak out, think winter is coming, and start poppin off
they are in my garden.....but actual sunlight hits the plants for 11.5 hours per day.... they get about an hour of ambient light in the morning.....the trees are covering it....then about 1.5 hours in the afternoon of ambient light...house covers the light
I'd throw it in the closet for 36 hrs or something if you want to force flower, I'd worry about it getting too much light and going back to veg tho
i just dont want to hit frost times....october 19th is first frost....or around then So im getting close.....if i put it in the closet for 36 hours and throw it back outside.....theres a chance of it going back into veg state?
flowering isn't magic... when the plant goes dark, it starts building flowering hormones. when light shows up, these are destroyed. when the nights get long enough, it can finally build enough hormone to start popping buds problem is... if you start this, but then it doesn't keep getting long enough nights, it's going to go back into veg Maybe start pulling it indoors into a closet for 12 hrs a day, I doubt you're going to pull buds off it in 7 weeks, and you don't want a nice big flowering plant to die a frosty death
ill just leave em outside for now.....but if it comes down to it....im just gonna bring em inside and put em on 12/12 cfls
One of my friends who grows outdoors will induce early flowering on his plants by throwing covers over them in the late afternoons. He made these cube frames out of pvc, then covered all the sides except the bottom with that black and white plastic "panda plastic" with the black side in and white out. That way it wouldn't absorb as much of the suns heat like plain black plastic will. You have to be carefull because if it is too hot out, the inside can get really hot quick and bake your ladies. He would put them on 1-2 hours before sunset just to get to 12 hours of darkness earlier.
Get a big clothes moving box and throw it over it. Should be light proof if you tape the top up good through some stuff on the bottom to hold it down maybe trash bags over that. Should give it enough air as well. As for forcing basically what was said above. You chose to grow outside .
