First of all, this is a drug test thread. Anyone have an idea of how the hiring process is for seasonal jobs? I got an interview Monday the 29th and she said "we're having interviews Monday". It basically sounded like they're just gonna do this in bulk. Do you think they still have 2-3 interviews for seasonal jobs? I just wanna know how long it will be until I have to take the piss test. And finally... I stopped smoking on the 18th, but I fucked up and smoked on the 22nd (I got on an ego trip and decided and no company that drug tests deserves my employment haha). Haven't smoked since. I've been vaping with a MFLB every night for about a year. I'm 140lbs, little body fat, and don't really work out but I'm going to start today. Am I fucked? I'm pretty broke and not sure if I can afford fake piss. I haven't even bought weed in a long time but I was lucky that my friend gave me a lot for my birthday.
Well that's why the main point of this thread is about the Best Buy hiring process for seasonal jobs. I know I'm pretty fucked in the drug test department, but maybe I can still pass if I do everything I can and the test is delayed a bit.

I was hoping for 2 weeks or so, if I do end up going through the standard hiring process. Oh well. I'm gonna keep applying for jobs. Do you think if failing the test will fuck up my chances of working there in the future? Maybe it's better if I don't show up at all?
No, they're not going to delay the test 2 weeks. You have 48 hours once you're given an offer of employment to go have your test done. They also don't schedule the interviews weeks apart. They get them done as fast as possible. I suppose YOU could drag out the interview process with a few lies, but if they're only hiring x amount of employees for the holidays you might get passed up. But seriously...as someone who worked at Best Buy for 2 years, it's fucking awful. Try to find something else.
i was at 240 and with lots of water and cardio i got rid of it in about 2 weeks you should be good just drink water and go for a little jog each day. my buddy smoked 3 days before a drug test and passed
So if my interview is Monday, do you think that's when I'll get the offer and have 48 hours to take the test? And yeah, it did sound like Monday was THE day when all the seasonal people are going to get interviewed so everyone is trained at the same time. Also, I totally believe you that it sucks. I went there recently and some kid was super stressed cause he had a ton of customers waiting for him and nobody was around. It was the same at Starbucks for me. I really need money right now though. I might have enough money for some nice interview clothes or even the uniform (I'm assuming I need to buy the pants/shoes). That's how broke I am right now. There's also not a lot of businesses close to my house and Best Buy is within walking distance. Was your friend a frequent smoker? Were you? I'm confident that 2 weeks can be enough for a smaller guy like me but I don't think I'll have 2 weeks. It seems like they're in a hurry.
Yeah, if Monday is the day they're interviewing everybody, you'll probably have until Wednesday to take the test. Honestly, the job wasn't bad. What made it bad was the magazines they used to make all the cashiers push (don't know if they still do that) and the stupid Rewards Zone cards. If you didn't sell a certain amount of magazines or cards every shift, the managers would fuck with your hours. If after a month you didn't sell enough, you were let go. Every week had a different amount of sales you had to push for. It was just annoying as fuck. People didn't want to hear that shit. They wanted to pay and to leave. As for uniform, they provide the shirt (it comes outta your first paycheck, of course) and you gotta provide khakis and completely black shoes.
Thanks man. I guess I don't really have enough time to pass. Fuck haha. I might go for it anyway and see if I get lucky or somehow get synthetic urine. Yeah I know how that is. I used to have to upsell 1lb coffee bags at Starbucks and they would get really annoyed sometimes. And sometimes they'd come back the next day and I'd ask them again because I forgot their face after dealing with so many people each day.
yea i was burning all day every day the right way hehe my friend seems like the occasional smoker probably a few times a week. just to be sure before hand you should buy an at home test to be safe. im confident if someone works hard they could get clean quickly
Hey man! My husband used to work for Best Buy and he had to take a drug screen. He only had to take the one and worked there for three years. I'm pretty sure there is only one interview, unless they've changed things up a bit. Drink a TON of water and cranberry juice. You should be good by the 29th. Good Luck! ~Danny
I don't like best buy. employee's at best buy are chumps out of high school who don't know what the fuck theyre talking about, just saying. I would smoke like champ just to fail a best buy interview.
I would assume anyone who is very knowledgable would work somewhere else or start their own business. It's probably going to suck during the holidays but I don't care. I'll post later if I pass. If I do I'll laugh.
I've worked as an associate for a little over a year now. The hiring process usually consists of 2 interviews, the second being with the GM. As far as the drug test goes, you have 48 hours after being hired to get to the lab and have the results submitted. Any more questions let me know, happy to help. I will tell you this though, there is definitely a honeymoon period.
Sure I have a question. Is it minimum wage? I'm basically asking the annoying questions I wouldn't want to ask in the interview. Also, do you often get called in on your days off a lot? I'm really responsible with my jobs but on my days off I like to relax, party or even go out of town. Tomorrow is the interview. I've been running a lot. I got a plan for the drug test. Nothing crazy, just working out, planning on eating a nasty meal the day of the drug test, drinking a lot of water/gatorade/b12 and pissing midstream into the cup. Most things have a honeymoon period. The seasonal job will probably end around the same time, haha.
