For The Blue Collar Smoker/user. What Do You Do For A Living

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Kiky_kyle, Sep 4, 2014.

  1. So we usually hear about the pot smokers that tend to have lower wedges when it comes to jobs but we never hear from the pot smokers from the higher class, if one might say.

I work for a government office. I have a bachelor and my job is very important. I wish i could undisclosed more but you get the jest of this post.

What do you do for a living and how does weed helps you unwind.

  2. Musicians, doctors, lawyers, politicians, professional athletes, actors....

  3. Uhhh I'd tell you but I'd get banned cause GC gets booty tickled about a lot of things 💁

  4. i own a small/medium sized IT securitys/infrastructure consulting business (been doing it about 8 years), i have one employee, and my sister helps answer phones sometimes....

i also work as a prep cook part time at a casino buffet (family business, well, not owned by us, but my dad is the executive chef, and my little bro also works there..been doing that for 2 years...

between the two i pull ~60k on a good year,,

even though the IT business is slow, and barely turns a profit (hence the only one employee, who is more or less seasonal, just whenever i get overwhelmed and have to much going at once, i give him a call), it affords me some awesome fringe benefits,.....like being able to own 5 cars, have two cell phones, lots of high end electronics........it's amazing the things that can be tax writeoffs...

i also save alot of money by growing my own herb....... it's not for selling though (besides a few very very close friends)

growings free basically, so anything i do make from that is all profit (but i RARELY am known to sell much more than a couple g's at a time.....i like to smoke alot.

  5. I meant what do you do?

  7. I'm still in school, so I don't have a career or anything yet, just the couple summer jobs I have and odd jobs to make money while in school haha. But the funny thing is, in my high school most of the people we smoked with (my friend and I were basically the ones who got the rest of them hooked haha) were other athletes and top ranked students haha. The biggest stoners in my school were both top 3 in our graduating class. Now in college it's about the same, we smoke with other athletes and ivy league stoners haha. So not all stoners are low wage scum like people think

  8. My "hobby" generates more income than my full-time job, lol. But the health benefits and retirement are worth something, I guess.

  9. I totally agree. Although I know a few of dirtbag pot smokers (who tend to usually be fricking brilliant) most of the "successful" people I know are pot heads

  10. Wouldn't it be white collar?

  11. I know one guy who has a PHD and smokes only right before he goes to bed, other than him literally everyone else who I know that smokes is either unemployed, a student or works in the remodeling/construction business like I do.

Come to think of it I've rarely heard of people being a stoner and "successful" outside of TV news and even then it's usually when they get busted and people are shocked.

I know there are successful stoners out there but they need to say fuck it and openly admit to being a smoker regardless of repercussions they would face even if that means termination from said successful job. IMO if everyone did that regardless of job and pay we would already have it legal in all states

TL;DR Everyone should tell their boss "I smoke weed and I'm willing to get another job for it, should I clean out my desk now?"

  13. I'm a forklift driver. 5 of us drivers smoke together on every break. Been doing it for years.

  14.
LMAO @ "writeoffs" (a slang term.) I feel like I'm on a Seinfeld episode, but I have to set the record straight.

I've been self-employed for thirty years, and I run into people ALL the time who think "writeoffs" are something evil, or sneaky, or some special thing that only businesses have so they can fuck the government. I wish. It seems to me that nobody understands what "writeoffs" really are except for  accountants and the self-employed.

Generally speaking, "writeoffs" are nothing more than allowed business expenses and are deductible from your gross sales/income. It is money you spent in order to generate income.

Take your gross income, subtract your expenses, and what's left over is your taxable income. Deductions are money you spent, you no longer have it so they cannot tax you for money you don't have. As far as that goes, it's no different than allowed personal exemptions on your tax return.

I blame the anti-capitalist establishment for promoting the "hate business," "corporations are evil because they get writeoffs" nonsense.

    God, this is getting tough.

  15. I guess although white collar (no a days) is reserved for politicians and extremely successful entrepreneur. But yes you're right.

  16. True. I agree with you that no one should hide it but I'm willing to bet that comes Monday I'll be the only idiot that lost the job that have worked for all my life for telling my boss that I smoke marijuana
