  1. Ever written any good songs or found yourselves better at your instrument of choice, including your voice? I play guitar, piano and sing. I really want to try writing a song while high and see how that works out.

  2. Hell yeah my writing becomes better and easier and my playing sounds better.. To me any way haha. I feel like it easier for me to flow while I'm stoned.

  3. Yup it makes everything flow easier for sure, and allows new ideas to surface.. I also play guitar and sing.

Hell yeah, im a huge fan of all music and I've been checking out some of Eddie veter and he wrote his music high.

Exactly. Like I'll just make up a song in my head while stoned, and it sounds beautiful. I never think to write it down or anything though. I can rhyme off the top of my head and come up with awesome melodies.

  6. I'm a university music student, classically trained in a whole bunch of instruments lol. I love getting toked before i write music. It really allows me to develop ideas fully. I also play jazz. (my main instrument is trumpet) When i rehearse with my big band (i play lead trumpet) i am often a tiny bit high, as it helps me improvise. generally i go to my music classes sober though.

  7. Ive bern playing guitar for 11 years, only been smoking for less than one. Music kinda gets me high on its own but high its something else. Idk if im better but i enjoy jammin even more

  8. I've been drumming for over 10 years (smoking for 5 or 6). TBH, I don't feel like getting high has a huge effect on my playing. Drumming (particularly improv jamming with others) has always been a very significant experience for me, much stronger than any amount of weed. Even when by myself, I would never play along to music. Instead, I'd basically play along to random "songs" I would form in my head while drumming. So it's also been a creative outlet, and I believe I wouldn't be remotely the same person I am today if I hadn't started playing.

I do get a bit sloppier when really stoned, but other than that it's pretty much the same for me either way...

  9. I can't play guitar for shit when I'm high. I get creative but music doesn't click for me, even though I can play a couple of instruments and jam regularly.

  10. I'm on Fruity Loops right now, just made a hot beat blazed :smoking:

  11. My guitar playing is more sloppy but I enjoy it more while high. It makes me way more creative though :smoke:

  12. I find that some of my best material was written while high. melodies, rhythms, and neat timbres that i would have never considered neat seem to pop out at me while i am high.

I break through the plateau of familiar chord and scale shapes and get into some really neat ideas while high.

This is how i feel about creating music high whether it be on my guitar or programming stuff into guitar pro/ FL/ cubase.

  13. I play guitar (electric and acoustic),bass guitar, drums, mandalin, banjo, and sax/clarinet.When I was little that's all I gave a fuck about is music lol.But yeah it helps with the flow, lyrics, music, and it helps put them all together.I haven't lately but I used to just crank up the line 6 and shred for fuckin hours until my fingers bleed.I still have caluses and fucked up finger tips from that. After I started learning sweep picking and soloing techniques and getting in to metal I would just play until I my fingers were raw and I couldn't play anymore. But mostly when I was little I did acoustic stuff like finger picking, flat picking, and mostly basic rhythm guitar.I didn't start getting in to lead guitar and playing metal until 12-13 yr.Fucking love guitar and drums I still have all my instruments except the clarinet and sax because I only learned those for easy credit in middle school haha.I'm more in to stringed instruments and percussion.Orchestra instruments definitely ain't my thing.

Same her man. Been playing for 2.5 years and if anything IM a little slower when I am high, but I play longer when high because I get so into it. But as a whole, no real effect on my playing. What kind of setup you got?

  15. I have a ton of experience with this and lemme tell you, it really depends on the strain!

Some strains are fantastic for music, ive written some of my best guitar licks, solos and chord progressions while baked, and realize that I more than likely would have never done it sober.

It's a bit difficult to play better technically(faster and more precise) baked, any kind of shredding or legato becomes a no no especially during the first 15-20 minutes. However, my creativity level goes through the roof and playing guitar itself becomes a seamless, very enjoyable experience. Though there are some strains, especially some of the heavy hitting indicas where I just cant bring myself up to writing music, or even playing very long in general because ide rather kick back and watch a movie :smoke:

  16. I don't hesitate to show off my drum gear when asked! Haha, I'm a gear nerd.
'80s Yamahas 18x14/12x8/16x16 with a 14x6.5 Pearl FF snare (brass + maple shells). 15" hats, 20" ride (both Zildjian As from the 50s). 22" Bettis. Customized Pearl ICON. :)

That's just what I keep in my apartment. I can't actually play here, so I just keep a small set up here for jamming with friends. I have a ton more gear that I just keep stored at my parents' place for now. I'm a gear junkie/drum hoarder.

  17. I wrote a pretty sweet song on my acoustic when i was COOKED. sort of reminds me of Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones, but backwards or something.. I dunno, I love music in general when high :D

  18. Write all my shit high

  19. I find I can't sing as good after smoking, and my guitar playing becomes sloppier. Plus I lose the initiative to play, so for me smoking is a no go. I think I smoked to much weed to use it for creativity though, I have never ever thought weed makes you more creative despite people saying though. I find even when talking, it's harder to say what you want to say while high.
