Food, Questions and plants tipping

    Well hello again.

    My friend owns a huge nursery, and he grows also. He is a plant freak and was telling me that a pot plant has very close genes to a tomato plant. So yesterday I went to the store and picked up tomato plant food with a ratio of 18-18-21. any thoughts on this?

    Also my plants have been growing for about 3 weeks. There about 5 inches tall and have huge leafs on the tops. My friend started growing the same time i did and my plants are alot shorter and fanned out then his is. Is there a reason for this? I am using 4 40w fluros with a 2700 lum. per each bulb. also I have a fan running not directly on the plants but on the back wall to keep circulation in the room.

    A few of the plants are so big on the tops that they have been leaning over pretty far. Any thoughts on this?

    my wife makes fun of me because i been talking to my plants. there my babies haha.

    i would get the fan(s) closer to your plants to promote stronger stems....keep lights as close as possible to keep yourinternode spacing as close as possible....height of plants is not as important as the internode spacing...yours may be shorter than your buddies, however if yours has more internodes than your friends, your laughing, yours is better...internode if you dont know is basically how close your fan leaves are from one another in height. smaller the better. plant food for tomatoes, not too sure, I am a aeroponic freak so if your working with soil...hope for others to help you
