I have been feeding with the fox farms trio, cal-mag, and liquid karma. I noticed the liquid karma could be sprayed on the leaves. Why would I want to do this? Is there any advantage to using my karma on the leaves instead of in the soil? Is it more efficient?
You want to put nutes in soil.. What will u do when the plant flowers? You don't want to spray your buds with anything in flower..
what toasty said! foliar feeding is primarily used for a quick way to get something into the plant. i foliar early on in flower with spray n grow. seems to help with growth.
If you want to be safe and conservative, do not foilar feed. Ohio is right that roots are more suited for nute uptake. That being said a leaf is fully capable of functioning as a root. I foilar spray, but mostly to correct deficiencies that neccesitate fast uptake. To foilar feed dilute to 25% of what you feed the root zone or the recommendded amt on the bottle. Anything a root can absorb can be fed thru the leaves. Just know this is advanced stuff and you can indeed mess your flowers up. I have foiler fed N def plants and within 20 minutes of spraying the yellowing leaves green right up. It is powerful and I recommend trying it, just know the risks. less is better if you are not sure. Go slow. Pick your least fav girl as a guinea pig and watch the results. Done right, foilar feeding can correct issues and add weight. But as root only feed avodcates will tell you, if youre feeding the roots right, there is no need to feed the leaves. Unecessary risk to the buds when you have a more natural avenue (root zone)
