could someone please explain the whole flushing process to me im a little confused on how and what to do please help!
here's what i do......first i stick my plant in a sink so water can freely drain out the bottom. then i pour in some water so the soil is covered and then let the plant absorb it. repeat this as many times as needed. do this multiple days in a row. the more water you can get to run through your soil the better. that's all there is to it.
Multiple days in a row? That should not be necessary and could over-water the plant and/or suffocate the roots. Check this link on flushing: http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/175770-how-hell-do-u-flush.html
well if you're flushing right before harvest, multiple days in a row is necessary to make sure all the nutes are out. that's how i do it anyway.
Flushing is mealy watering, but more of it. They recommend 3 times the pot size, so a one gallon pot would take 3 gallons. It is done to wash away remaining salts from fertilizing. So it basically cleans up your soil or whatever you used. You'd have to talk to someone with more experience on the other question as to when. I think I did it twice last grow, once a week or two before switching to 12/12, and then again a week before harvest. Should maybe have been two weeks before harvest, but ya learn as ya go.. .. Good luck!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone, I'm new here. What if you use the kind of fert. that you sprinkle over the soil? They look like little beads. Can that be flushed out, just before you harvest? Is it wiser to use a liquid fert.?
i dont think you should use pellets, the best would be water soluble like miracle grow or liquid like fox farms.
I have two females, this is my first grow. I started them outside during the summer. I have brought them in cause of the weather change in my area. The problem, I put pellets on the soil while they were outside. They have been under CFLs 12/12 cycle for about 2 weeks. They are doing well. I'm guessing I have a couple months before they bud, they have lots of flowers now. What do I do with the pellets being in the soil?
