I am on day 2 of flush. Day 53 of flower. And growing blue cheese. I have flushed my plant with 3 gallons of none pH water yesterday and again today. My PPM on the runoff is now 300. The lowest I am able to get it... I will be watering her with the usual 1 gallon amount from now on, with a possible half gallon water several hours into lights on. (Several hours after first water, which was first sign of lights on) I should have hopefully locked out the nutee now and am all set to continue this 1 gallon and half gallon water, each day until harvest.(first sign of amber trichomes) Hopefully I will be flushing for like 7-14 days. I'm trying to hit 14 but I feel my plant will be ready before then.. what would anybody suggest with the flushing g period for coco? I have a 7/8 week flower plant. And I am day 53 right now. Also ,when it comes to harvesting, im going to leave her in total darkness for 48 hours. Then chop and hang for several days. Still in the dark trying not to have light leaks during this time. What is my ultimate process to completely eliminate chlorophyll for harvest? The last thing I would want is for my first plant to turn fro. This very sweet and fruity smelling bud to hay/grass smell! What can anybody suggest? As I am aware everyone is divided with options on here so I'm all ears. If anybody has any tips/tricks that they personally do for a much higher smelling crop, I would massively appreciate it! And with their dry & cure. The hay/ grass smell comes with fast drying. Not the flushing. Flushing helps break up the salts left over from nutes i believe. chlorophyll and the sugars break down in the curing process.
Flushing in the end forces the plant to use stored sugars so there are less sugars to be broken down during the cure. Flushing causes the flower to change color and gain bag appeal and it gains density. Flushing during the grow is for Breaking up salt build ups. End flush is to force the plant to cannibalize itself and it makes the cure much more effective. Good luck.
