The strains I have are Shiva, K2, and Hindu Kush, and the flowering times quoted on the packages were 8 to 9 weeks. I'll be on week 10 this friday and my nugs dont seem to be developing any more, they still look "airy". Im also not seeing any significant trichome development. Its come to my attention that I may have vegged them for too long and the result of that is that my plants are huge and grew way to tall and are bushing up in the chicken wire I have set up. does the size of the plant have any effect on the flowering time? Ill post some pics up when I get the cord to my digital camera.
size wont directly effect flower time, but if the plants have bushed up to the point of poor light penetration in most areas, then this could delay development of the buds its also possible you have later phenos
you could try "Ripen" - it speeds up the end of the flowering process and can be used when you are doing your final flush
if its not too intense, try just moving some of the fan leaves, allowing more light to the bud sites if the canopy is very dense, you may want to trim some of the fan leaves....id recommend trimming the leaves by creatively cutting...maybe take the tips off, trim the edges, etc... this way, youre able to let more light through, but also not completely removing leaves. If that still isnt sufficient, take a few off. bud getting light is more important than leaves getting light at this point, so whatever it takes
Are you counting the 10 weeks from when you changed to 12/12, or from when flowers first appeared?.........If from 12/12, you could still have a couple of weeks. Adding molasses when watering toward the end can sometimes bulk up your buds also.......Good luck.
It's 10 weeks counting from when I switched to 12/12, some of the fan leaves just died so I pulled them off. The cannopy is very very dense, what would happen if I just cut the tops off and made room in the cannopy? All of the good nugs are below it anyways.
If I'm not mistaken, Kush takes a little longer to finish that other strains. Re-arrange some fan leaves and let her go. It will be worth it in the end. Perhaps a little supplemental lighting would help too?
how long from the flip to 12/12 did it take to see visible flowers? ie, pistils shooting out of the growth tips? because, that is the point when you start the flower timer...my guess is youre only 8.5-9 weeks in. and yeah, some kushes can go 11-12 weeks, depending on variety
so are my plants going to be finished at different times? And how do I manage that when they are all tangled up in the chicken wire?
