flowering period in hydroponics

  1. i have a hydroponics sytem set up with a 250watt hps that im using for veg and flowering (yes you CAN veg good under an hps) im not using rockwool or clay balls or w/e, these grow mediums that are healthier than rockwool or something not sure, got them at hydro shop, they work good, so yeah, those and coco

i water 3 times a day using foxfarm nutes and i dont think i will ever change those

plants are 2-3 weeks into life and already have 5th or 6th node, going to put in flowering soon after i fim or top

i was wondering about how long a flowering period takes with hydroponics, about how many weeks?

if anymore info is needed let me know, i'll get pics up soon

  2. thats strain spesific, hydro has nothing to do with it. indica plants estimate 8wks sativa estimate 12wks.

  3. What do you mean you water 3 times a day. With hydro, you should only have to change your resevoir once a week or so. And it is usually not necessary to add nutes to your resevoir more than once a week either (depending on your feeding schedule). Also, it is a good idea to completely drain your resevoir before refilling. It keeps the nutrient concentration right where you want it.

djdjinthemix is right. 8-12 weeks for flowering is the norm, regaurdless of the medium you are using to grow.

    Good Luck.

  4. ^^i think he meant he'll never change the type of nutes he uses....that being said i think FoxFarms products r effin awesome...i never have any ph issuses...and as long as you mix them slightly weak you should never have a nute burn...if u get em all they are pricey but they last and they are worth every penny!!

  5. Vegetative growth is definitly faster in hydro but flowering time is pretty much the same, they'll stretch more in hydro so you can start flowering when they are shorter than if you were in soil but the flowers still need 8-12 weeks depending on strain to reach full maturity. Get a microscope, when your trichomes are about 50/50 cloudy/amber you're ready to cut

  6. Negetive.

Flowering time, as stated by Flark, is totally strain dependent.

You can have anywhere from 6-12 weeks flowering time, depending on the strain. (yes, BubbleBerry is only 6 weeks!)

All Hydro will do for you as far as time, is speed up the growth rate in vegitive state. Meaning, it will grow alot faster to the height you want to start flowering. And, when you go to 12/12, you will still get a solid 2 weeks of rapid growth until it starts to flower.

  7. Aye, mine more than doubled in the first week of flowering and are still getting taller at the end of the second. Most of my plants showed sex starting yesterday and today, today is the 14th day of flowering for me.
They were 5" tall when I started flowering on the 1st of this month. They are 21" tall now.
