im on my second week into flowering and sex is just now starting to show.. i run 2 600 watt HPS.. i was wondering if i should swap one out to a MH.. someone told me HPS for quanity MH for quality.. does this sound right "? also i was told flowering and vegging was all about light schedule and the type of light had no affect on it... fort instance you could flower with 600 watt MH as long as it was 12/12 or you could vegg with HPS as long as it was 18/6...
You can veg/flower with either light fine. 2 week into flower you should have little balls of hair by then IMO.Just now showing sex seems slow, but it'll just take more weeks to finish really is all that means.
i meant starting my second week... today.... flipped them 8 days ago... ive already culled 2 males.. i got 4 plants left.. hope atleast 2 are female...
The HPS orange bulb is better for flower, gives better radiation for chlorophyll A and chlorophyll B production, which boost flower production. MH white spectrum bulb will work better for veg. This is what i have always done and everybody i know always does, but its up to you, its your grow.
how are you this far into a grow without knowing this stuff? like, you have two HPS lights now. How did you come to pick those out without knowing that HPS gives off a light spectrum best suited for flowering? whoever is telling you this stuff is half right. MH is best for veg, HPS for flower. A mixed spectrum is ideal. as for schedules, yeah think about the earth and sun. the sun doesnt stop and change bulbs so plants can enter flower mode. the seasons change and the amount of sunlight per day decreases (read about the orbit and axis of the earth and why seasons change) JUST like you would do in a tent. 18/6 to 12/12. "Spring/Summer" to "Fall". These are basics of growing. Spend more time reading the stickies on this board and less time listening to your friend or this other clown giving you advice here. You lack basic knowledge yet you're worried about "nutes". That's just backwards man.
