Flowering and harvesting tips

  1. In week 3 of flower about 25-26 days after vegging for 62 days. Have lots of main colas with side branches/colas grown everywhere off the main colas. Using viparspectra par 450, viparspectra 300 reflector series, and galaxy hydro 300w leds with supplemental side lighting w/ 3 100w CREE led flood lights with the white globe cap removed exposing led diodes in a 60x60x78 yield lab grow tent. I have 2, 6 inch exhaust vents in top of tent with 2, 6 inch inline fans in bottom of tent bringing air in with 2, 6 inch desk fans hanging from ceiling of tent lightly blowing across top of canopy and an 8 inch floor fan blowing around bottom of canopy. Made own soil of about 50%-60% sphagnum peat moss, 40% plain Scott's top soil, 10% perlite, 10% vermiculite, and supplemented with lime recently as I discovered sphagnum peat moss is pretty damn acidic. Feed with gh flora trio basically been feeding at 1/4 strength recommend dose the entire grow. Just looking for any advise or tips or just a shared experience would be great. Thank you all!!!!!

  2. Pics would be nice so we can comment on your plant and set up

  3. 15081946398441932151955.jpg also run this 400w mh bulb a couple hours a day during flower as well

  4. Well, that's gotta be one of the worst grows I've seen on GC. Just kidding. I'd say keep on doing what you are doing. Your girls look happy and healthy from what I can see. As long as your temps and humidity are in check, your setup is right on. The only criticism I would have is the pics. Pics under natural lighting are easier to identify a deficiency or toxicity. And just more pleasing to look at. We all love quality bud porn. Keep up the good work. A few more weeks and you'll be enjoying that sweet smoke. A piece of advice I'd like to offer is in regards to harvest time. Make sure those buds are done. If this is your first grow, it'll get tempting to chop. If you still have white pistil growth and most of the browned pistils haven't sucked back in, it's not done. Wait = weight. And if you are using seeds from a seed bank, expect to go a couple weeks or more than what the breeder says. I check my thrichomes but, I won't chop if the buds are still growing. And when checking trichs, check in the bud not on the sugar leaves.
    Peace

  5. Lol I read that first sentence and thought damn it's that bad haha. Thanks. Yeah temps stay between 78-82 degrees and I keep humidity now 42%-55%. I thought I sent a few pics in natural white light. I can send it later. I have a magnifying glass that works well enough to see tricomes and def going to be patient and not chop early. Hopefully I don't run into a problem. I was having a yellowing leave problem before flower but discovered my plant was root bound so I transplanted from 5 gallon bucket to an 18 gallon tote

  6. Oh and my plant is just a bag seed. It was my first serious grow so I just did one plant test run while I was getting set up and buying everything I need. After this grow I'm getting white widow and gonna try to get 4-5 plants in my 5x5 tent

  7. Looking good, I would suggest getting some potassium silicate next run it really gives your stems girth & strength, my only other concern is what kind of things have you done to prevent bugs? I.e. Neem, azamax etc, I like to treat them at the switch seems one can get thru veg just fine then about week 5-6 of flower and the bugs attack....

  8. Thanks for the suggestion. I had some fungus gnats during veg but they weren't that bad and I transplanted about a month ago and they are gone. I have fly traps to hang if they dis start to get bad but in my set up bugs are not a concern. No pets or any other people go near my grow room so I don't think it would become an issue but if it did I would consider one of those alternatives

  9. Anyone have any experiences with common issues during flowering they could share? The first 3 weeks of flower have went great and the first 6 weeks of veg went great untill plant became root bound in 5 gallon bucket and i struggled a little to figure out what was going on but I didn't panic and didn't try making any drastic uneducated changes and I finally figured it out after trouble shooting for 2 weeks and after transplanting all issues went away. Like I said flower has went great but I have never flowered before and just want to be ready in case I run into an issue

  10. You are doing good usually issues in flowering happen the first few weeks, it's very stressful for them you have climbed that hill already, be patient flowering can come to a snails pace the last few weeks and that's when you don't want to "add something" to speed things back up, bottom leaves will likely yellow and die depending on your strain, colors other then green & the plants look tired can make us think they are suffering a nute issue when they are not, keep an eye out for bugs I have never had spider mites during veg they seem to pop up in the last few weeks for me, let the plant guide you but don't get caught up in the need for all the "resin pumping additives" etc. you will have great tasting buds by just staying your course, make sure you have no light leaks or darkness interruption of any kind or hermies can occur, make sure your temps do not get to high or trichromes will suffer, sit back and enjoy the show....

  11. Thank you! Yeah I'm not adding anything to try to pump tricomes, I am getting tons of trichomes naturally. What attracts spider mites? High humidity? I won't have any issues related to plant not being in optimal climate because I have everything I need to keep climate under control. I have tent hooked up to my hvac in my house for cooling or heating, exhaust vents, intake vents, plants of fans, humidifier all that good stuff. My only concern right now is how much to feed my plants. I use gh flora trio and iv bee giving 1/4 strength the entire grow for veg but since flower I switched to the Lucas formula but I'm only using the Lucas at 1/4 strength. My biggest fear has been over nutes so I have kept nutes on the way low side for whole grow

  12. I don't want to over feed but at the same time I don't want to lose out on my yield because I'm not giving enough food. Any advise?

  13. Your plants bottom/older leaves will usually tell you if they need more food keep an eye on them and also if new sugar leaf growth starts looking off from the current sugar leaves or start forming small/narrow but you should be fine IMO it's way easier to correct to little then too much... spider mites like hot and dry we drop the humidity during flower and right into their favorite conditions, keeping it cooler helps though

  14. And during flower, cooler temps can often bring out colors in the bud. Purples, red etc. in some strains. I have one plant that's buds are turning purple with the outdoor night temps being cool lately. If you aren't showing yellowing or other discoloration, you don't necessarily have to add any additional nutes. A couple more weeks from now, you may notice some yellowing of fan leaves. Completely natural and no need for panic as the plant uses up some stored nutes in the leaves. A lot of guys routinely spray some sort of pest control to prevent any issues. I may pick up that practice. I've had some bugs, not too bad, on my outdoor plants but react when I see signs. I will l be adding neem cake to my soil next outdoor run. Indoors, I haven't had any real pest issues other than some fungus gnats. Man they are a pain in the ass. But one of the easier ones to deal with.

  15. You say they like dry and warm or hot, what would you say is ideal temp and humidity for mites? Yeah, I'm not really worried about pests as I keep my room clean and climate controlled. Like I said I had the gnats during veg but nothing crazy. I was actually coming home everyday after work and vacuuming there asses up lol but I eventually ended up buying the sticky fly traps and I haven't even used them because there gone after transplant lol. If they come back I'll put the traps out which I know won't rid them but keep an under control. Yeah I know the old drop temp at night trick to bring out colors and I know my leaves will start to yellow and a few weeks and it's normal. I just want to make sure in the next 3-4 weeks I'm giving my girl all the p and k she needs to fatten up

  16. Depot sells CREE leds and I bought a couple for supplemental side lighting and during mid veg I broke a main cola about 80% off the main stem so it was severely stunted and I put a CREE 100w flood light with the globe cap removed in a desk lamp about 3-4 inches from branch and it started growing like crazy

  17. You need to fill up your space with canopy, 3/4 of your tent is empty.
