Over the past 3 days or so I have noticed a rapid yellowing of some of the larger fan leaves right below the main colas. I gave it a mild feeding on the day it was to be watered and the problem persisted. The leaves started to claw down slightly too so I went ahead and flushed my coco/perlite mix with 3 gals of water. (coco is very easy to flush)

I let that all drain away and I gave my girl a full feeding thinking maybe she was having some defs. Today I noticed more persistent yellowing of the leaves now to the secondary fan leaves. Over all only 1 is really yellow, with the vast majority a light greenish yellow in the top portion of the plant. When I fed it yesterday it was given organic nitrogen through the fox farms big bloom as well as some ewc I had bubbling in my water (about 2 tbsps) and it also received a smaller amount of nitrogen from the cal-mag it was given as well.

Now my real question is... should I wait another day or two and see if the yellow slows or is she yellowing because maybe she is about ready to be picked already? Again this is only day 45. Bud doesnt really seem to be growing much but I do notice some new calyx's pushing out of the bud every day. Advice:confused::confused:

Just to clarify the yellow isn't the old leaves first. Its actually some of of the last fan leaves that pushed out during veg that are yellowing.

  2. in all cases of nutrient deficiency/burn in soil flush with a ph adjusted water solution, and water with a corrected nutrient solution with correct ph

  3. Sorry to hear that you're having issues.
    What's ur ph?

AskEd is the coco guru around here, you need to find his journal and read!! Great info in there. Good luck! :smoke:

The OP is NOT growing in soil ;)

Well tbh Idk anymore. I ran out of drops and haven't been able to get any. Instead I've been using my method I had been doing for a while... which was buying a specific brand of distilled water, adding my nutes and the ph down to obtain proper ph. I had done this enough time with the drops I was able to figure out exactly how much ph down to add for each of the different feedings I give it. Unless my ph down lost potency I don't really see why I would have problems. It was coming back as same ph each and every time I tried this method when I did have ph drops. I just had to be precise with my measurements. I do have a soil meter which I don't think is completely accurate in coco >.<

And yea hoping ed would hop on - I got most of my original info from him^^

Edit: if the ph meter does indeed work in this coco mix it's coming back at just below 6

  5. I just went down to the local radioshack and picket up a pocket microscope with 60-100x magnification for $12.09

I've been looking at some leaves that are coated and I see quite few of some brownish/red amber trichs... could this strain indeed be ready already? A friend of mine saw it a few weeks ago and commented he thought it was an autoflower. She's looking real pretty but personally idts that she is autoflowering. It preflowered for about a week before i 12/12 it then I got buds.

But honestly 45 days could it really be ready?

  6. what do you know about the strain?

it may be genetically unstable and a rapid finish might be a rare trait that just popped out this once.

  7. Well I don't really know tbh. I tried making another thread a week or so ago with lots of pics and some general info to see if anyone else had any ideas on what it could be.

I looked through the trichs more thoroughly and most are not amber. It seems on each bud though there are a few spots where they are starting to show up. If you want to look at those buds/thread here's the link

  8. If you're already getting amber trichs then there is no need to worry about the yellowing leaves. All cannabis does that as flowering is winding up. You should just stick with distilled water (w/ a little molasses if you'd like) from now on b/c in about a week or 2 she's gonna be done anyway.

  9. Right on - I have been feeding about 1 tbsp a gallon every watering do you think I can up this dose to 2 tbsp if it likes it? It usually goes 3 waterings in 2 weeks

  10. Yellowing of fan leafs is nomal when she's about done and it sounds like your about done . I wouldent worry to much about it

  11. I would be weening her off if anything. I usually cut out the ferts with about 2-3 weeks left and cut out the molasses with about 2 waterings left. I just want to insure I can give the plant a good flushing so that the buds are as tasty as they can possibly be. Potency and yield are not the only thing a gardener should be worried about.

  12. I agree, nothing wrong with some yellowing fan leaves that far along in flowering. Dont sweat it.

I agree with the statement above as well
