Hi, I have 4 plants in pots which generally live outside when the weather is good, or in a greenhouse when not. Two of them I want to flower early and will put in a 'dark room' for 12 hours a day. My question is this... If I'm away for the weekend what should I do with the plants. I hear that if the 12/12 cycle is broken and they get more light then they return to the vegitative state. I won't be there to bring them in.... would it be best to just leave them in the dark for 48 hours???? will the make rubbish buds??? thanks - N
How many weeks into flower are you planning on leaving them? If it's within the first 4-5 wks, and you only do this once during the entire flowering cycle, you should have no problem leaving them in the dark for 48hrs. I have done it. Not on purpose but it happened and everything was fine.
Thanks - my feeling is that it's better to have too much dark than light when flowering.... I'm growing Arora Indica in pots, outside in the day then greenhouse at night. It's around 8 weeks flowering I think.
