Hey guys, I have a lumatek digital balast and 2 different bulbs: a 600w HPS hortilux bulb and a 600w sun pulse 3k mh bulb. I am currently using the sun pulse but was wondering what will produce the best buds for my harvest? It seems as though the sun pulse provides a fuller spectrum so I am not sure what to do here thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if your ballast is one that is compatible with both MH and HPS, I'll leave that for you to figure out. I can tell you that you should use your MH for vegging and your HPS for flowering though.
I would say use the HPS. They will lose there spectrum faster but will yield you much more. I did some side by side comparisons with HPS and Sun Pulse 3k and the HPS kicked the Sun Pulse bulbs ass. I had a Lumatek with a sun pulse and an old magnetic ballast that must have been from the 80's with a sylvania grolux over a 3' x '6 ebb and flow system. All plants were cuttings from the same mother. The only thing different from one side to the other was the light. Sylvania yielded almost a third more. I had two friends who tried sun pulse at the same time as me and had similar results. Personally I think they are a scam.
