Flower under 18 hour cycle

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by ProStone, May 17, 2018.

  1. Hoping you can answer a question. I recently had the surprise of my NightQueen feminized photoperiod plant turn to flower about 2 days ago. I was about to switch to 12/12 from 18/6. I am growing indoors under 600w hps in medium.

This plant was not suppose to be an autoflower so I don't know how to deal with the light cycle. Do I treat it like an autoflower or a photoperiod plant. I'm fairly new at this so I am at a bit of a loss.

    Hope you have some thoughts.

  2. just keep it at 18/6 then. if it's an auto flower it doesn't need a 12/12 cycle the more light it gets the better.

  3. Might just be Pre-Flowers.

If they are, you'll still need to switch to 12-12.

  6. I think my pics loaded ok. This was not suppose to be an autoflower but I read recently that some varieties can express it. As I said I am fairly new at this so I expect surprises . Thinking I should just treat it like a photperiod plant and go to 12/12 since I have another photperiod plant in the grow with it. Looking for hints or wisdom

  7. I had the same thing happen to me, I had two autos and one turned out to be a photo. Had to ditch the photo and go with just 1.

But yes with just one tent it either or I'm afraid, and if you don't go 12/12 then the other will never start.i really have no idea how a auto will act to just 12 hours :/

Is there lots of hairs? As mentioned it could just be pre flowers as she knows what's coming. Sometimes I get the odd one here or there.

But yeah if I was you id continue with whatever plan you have, and hope that it's not an auto.

  8. I appreciate the input all. I am going to switch to 12/12 afterall. It was the plan so I might as well stick to it since I have another photoperiod in with it. I have already taken clones from it before it did this so if it is an autoflower they won' last past the life of the mother if I understand this concept correctly. Thanks again. Any other insight are always welcome.

  9. That looks like preflower showing signs its a female plants. If you veg it for some months it will show its sex.

  10. How many months was the autoflower under the lights for? Usually autos flower will be done 6 to 10 week.

  11. 8 weeks veg. It is feminized and supposed to be photoperiod. I got it from a reputable seed vendor. The adventure continues as it gets switched to 12/12. Thanks for the input. I will chalk it up to an anomaly for now and see what happens.

  12. It is almost defiantly a photperiod then just showing signs of sex before the flip.
I don't think there's an auto around that takes 8 weeks to start flower.
