So im moving to Florida from PA this summer. My girlfriends uncle gave us his old house but its just outside of Orlando(about 20min give or take) in a wealthy neighborhood. The yard is huge and is completely enclosed by an 8' wood fence and theres enough room for 3 or 4 houses in between this house and the next(this is what im told, havent actually laid eyes on it yet). With this being said, i plan on transforming part of the yard for growing(10-20 plants). So heres some questions for you florida growers... 1. Are choppers a huge concern? Such as... How often do they fly? Would they fly over an area like mine? 2. Does this sound safe enough given my situation atleast from the fuzz? 3. What strains do the best in Floridas weather? If you think i should just take my op indoors, could any of you name a few hydro store, primarily in the orlando area. Thanks in advance for any advice. Good-bye and stay high
I would never suggest anyone break the law here in Florida. We have the absolute worst laws in the entire nation. 20 Grams is a felony here. Less than 25 plants can even pull a trafficking charge.. We have a Quadriplegic in Tampa in jail for his medicinal use of marijuana. After they recognized he used it medicinally he got a reduced sentence of 90 days and 3 years probation. Florida is horrible.. Get started now on helping us change the laws.. People United for Medical Marijuana - Florida PAC We are looking at 2012.
I wouldn't grow that many on your own land, if you're looking to grow outdoors, find a nice spot in the woods and do an outdoor grow. if you must grow on your own property, try to keep it minimal.. but as the poster above mentioned, FL MJ laws are FUCKED.
when were you thinking of growing? i dont think florida weather would be suitable for out door growing. Because too high humidity year round, and too hot during the majority of the year. Unless you time it perfectly to do it during the winter to spring, but even still its going to get above 80 and possibly below 40 during winter.
Outdoor growers in Florida have actually seen great results and up to 4 growing seasons a year on some types. But they also face the absolute worst laws in the nation so most moved indoors.
The way I see it, not even 5 percent of people arrested for cannabis are growers. I live in an Atlanta metro, and they have choppers here, but the case here is the same as there: they want HUGE operations. Or meth labs. Nobody is worried about a closet or bedroom grow. Just keep the smell down by planting some sage outside. Everyone is broke as fuck right now. Enjoy it.
Oh and as far as outdoor is concerned, grow indica plants because they are shorter and bushier. Remember to top them. Just make sure you have some form of cover from neighbors. They're the ones you should be worried about, not the fuzz.
Lucky for you in Atlanta.. I have seen a dozen police officers happily raid a place and pull away a single leaf and grinder and arrest 4 people for it.. In Florida, they will get you for conspiracy.. They don't care..
Well I'm from Oklahoma. And that is the only state in the country with harsher marijuana laws than Florida. They did the same thing there, but there is one principle involved that is usually overlooked: keep a low profile. If you're growing, damn sure don't tell anyone. Limit your local smoking buddies. Just know that if you're growing weed, that is a big offense. Don't ruin it by overlooking anything. Keep every single aspect of your life under control. Pay your bills and don't give the cable guy a reason to see your set-up. It's really not as risky as you would think. And if you get that scared, then just don't do it. After all, everybody likes pounds of weed that they did little to no work in order to achieve, and with the exception of stealing, growing is the only way to do so.
And my bad. The cultivation laws in florida are worse than Oklahoma. Possession is pretty much the same.
