  1. Here's a dang good reason to buy from LEGAL dispensaries! Please be careful with who you buy from!

    CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

One pound of marijuana laced with fentanyl was found after Florida Highway Patrol troopers and K-9 Thor stopped a reckless driver in Charlotte County.
Abraham Duarte, 28, of Ocala, was reportedly traveling 100 MPH on I-75 at mile marker 166.
He was arrested on multiple felonies and booked into the Charlotte County Jail.
Duarte is charged with marijuana possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, reckless driving, and trafficking in fentanyl of four grams or more. (Snipped, but there was only a sentence basically saying it's bad stuff)

  6. I too believe it is a way to scare people into soley shop at dispensaries and take away untaxed cannabis. We all remember razor blades in holloween candy. Heroin been around 20+ years ago when cannabis was illegal where was heroin laced weed be on the look out i don 't recall.

  7. I would prefer that but I'm fine growing mine illegally. At my age a long prison sentence doesn't mean much.

  8. A side story... I worked in my first career as a x-ray tech and I always volunteered to x-ray candy. In 21 years I found a grand total of zero things in candy, nada, nothing... it was always just a way to scare people.

  9. Just as a FYI- "lacing" cannabis with other drugs is not new, and it does happen. The first ounce my late husband bought back in 1967 was laced with heroin.

  10. I routinely look to the articles cited in threads like this (not throwing shade) to try to find more than just the gloss mentioned in a short news story; the aim in finding whether the claim is backed up by actual lab tests rather than a roadside kit. I haven't given this my full attention because these details aren't evident. Incidents like this are rarely fleshed out more than a terse proclamation from a spokesman and reporters fail in their duty to ask the question that would prove the validity of the press release. False positives by predictably unreliable road kits are the end of discussion to the public and an eventual disclaimer (months or years later) tend to belie the alarmist content the original story pushes forward. I apologize for not backing my own suspicions with the deep dive.

  11. Oh yeah. I grew mine illegally for years, and would do so again if I had to.
    But legally is better.
