Florescent Light Question

  1. Hi guys, I could not find this anywhere when I searched.

I want to get a 2 foot 4 bulb t5 set up for veg.

Do you think this would be enough to veg 1 or 2 plants to their full potential?

    Thanks.

  2. The 4 foot would give you more space for 2 good size plants. Vegging under floros do a great job. Real good bang for your buck.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you think it would be good if I went with one plant?

  4. You could veg a plant up to 18" under a light like that, but with a 4' you could veg a plant and 6 clones.

  5. You mean I could only grow my plant 18" with the 2foot 4 bulb efficiently

  6. 18" tall, you could lst up to 24" wide but then the floresent light wont be able to penetrate the canopy and supply light to the bottom of the plant.

What if you had to flower with them?
EDIT. I mean assuming you switched bulbs. Do they do ok?

  8.
I tried flowering under floros a very long time ago T12's 4 30 watt 6500K tubes and grew 6 plants and got 3/4oz. LOL

My first real grow light was a 1,000w MH and never used a smaller light to flower with after that. Still use floros for babies in the summer but now Im running my 2 1,000's.  I have 2 more 1,000's and (3) 400w that Im not using.

Collecting grow lights is a hobby all to itself.

  9. Hey guys I too have a question. I've had 2 plants in veg for 1.5 months started out on 3 1600 lumen 6500k CFLs. Then added 2 2' 1200 lumen 4100k tubes (going for mixed spectrum) then I added 3 1600 lumen 2700k CFLs. Before uploadfromtaptalk1410060790548.jpg After uploadfromtaptalk1410060813433.jpg The second plant was a seed I stuck 6" in the pot for shits and giggles. Feeding it nutes since before it popped up.
    1 week uploadfromtaptalk1410060918596.jpg Now uploadfromtaptalk1410060955036.jpg
And tonight I have turned off the lights for a 12/12 cycle. And later on in flowering once I'm getting bud formation I'm going to take away the 3 6500k bulbs and replace with 3 2700k CFLs. uploadfromtaptalk1410061176741.jpg Does anyone know how it will work out? Hopefully my first successful indoor grow. Opinions are highly appreciated!!

  10. Ohh and I've also got 4 more 2 foot 4100k tubes.

  11. Hmm. Shit I was gonna get the same thing he's talking about. I mean I was gonna veg with the 6500 and switch to the 2700s to flower. My reason is cause it's a box grow and heat issues I didn't want to get into hps/mh quite yet , this kinda light wouldn't yield much that way? 1 decent size plant or a small 4 plant mini scrog

  12.
I was using old ass T12 with bagseed and a very ghetto set up, not a nice T5.

I think it would be worth a shot with a nice cabinet.  I was using miracle grow for lawn grass fertilizer for nutes. LOL

Like I said, a very long time ago and real ghetto.

  13. Haha I love it. It's not a super nice tent but it's a better box than some I guess and it is bag seed for now. Which are two more reasons I was goin in that direction lol, but yeah I'd be trying to get like 2-3 oz with it. If that's not doable I'm not gonna get it.

  14. With good soil and ff nutes I should add

  15. Yes it would definitely! I've done it plenty of times. Always came out great for me. As babies keep light 4 inches away. When they start branching 2 inches away. T5s always great in veg.
