Flooring?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by smspiff, May 3, 2011.

  1. What type of flooring should I use for my concrete floor in my 8 by 6 area?
    Should I buy insulation?

  2. Yeah you can use some foundation insulation. Its 7$ for a 1/2"x4'x8' sheet, about 13$ for a 1" thick piece. Its white foam and bug resistant

  3. Thanks so much. Should I also layer the floor with a white poly?

  4. Concrete will keep the soup cold....if this is a hydro grow

*curses with fists raised to the heavens*

I actually USE my concrete slab to help keep my res temps stable. With lights on my res gets up to 78 maybe at night it will go as low as 72 usually. (68 if it gets really cold).

    1. Know Your Style. What colors and patterns do you like? Think about which floor textures appeal to you: the rich grain of hardwood, luxuriously thick carpet or the sleek lines of tile. ...
    2. Consider Your Lifestyle. Think about how you use the room flooring companies. ...
    3. Crunch Numbers. Calculate your budget.

  8. If it's an 8x6 I'd probably leave the floor bare. You'll inevitably have some spills and concrete is easy to clean.

  9. On my concrete floor I put ,
    2'' xps rigid insulation board
    3/4 " exterior subfloor board
One piece linoleum floor covering .
    Works great!
