flavoring

  1. I've read that adding molassas to flowering plants will make your buds larger and make them taste better. Any input about this or any other additive you can give to plants to make the finished product taste better will be appreciated.
I'm into my second grow with the city using a brand new HID system. I am using a convertable 1000 watt(Mh/HPS)ballast in a 20sq.ft room. The weather is fine at 75degrees/60%humidity, with constant air circulation. I just started flowering and out of 29 plants, 16 females are thriving. I let everthing veg for almost 2 months, making most plants approx 3ft tall. I'm looking to get plants close to 5ft tall at the finish and know there will be at least a pound of dried/cured BUD. I've grown off and on for over 10 years and by far this is my most efficient grow room so far.
Would appreciate some input about flavoring

  2. Adding a sweetener to the soil will probably produce some interesting molds therein, but it will not favorably alter the taste of the finished produce. To add a flavor (but why?) grind up some nutmeg or cinnamon very fine, and dust the buds as you consume them. Or store the cured buds with whole cloves and/or some very thinly cut orange peel. Use only the outer colored layer, no white pith, as it can mold. Your best bet is to learn to appreciate that rich tangy flavor of properly processed pot, covered with resiny trichomes. Yummmmm! Finger lickin' goooood! As testified by ye olde earth girl

  3. :)

  4. tho suga is the main building block of plant life its way to large and complex to b taken up by the roots so like earth girl says it will just sit in ur soil and rot.

  5. Sugar molecules are huge, in relation to the molecules of nutes and gasses being absorbed by the plant. They also have abrasive edges, which is what causes the most damage to bloodvessels, kidneys, eyeballs, etc. among diabetics. I'm betting the syrup would be just as deadly to the plant. The best use of molasses if your not making gingerbread cookies, is to feed it to my earthworms. They love sweets!
    Ciao, eg

  6. Thankx peoples, my weed tastes mmmmmm good. I'm always trying to improve growing techniques, and if a little better taste could be had, I want it.

  7. Have you ever tried the Final Fortnight flush technique? It depends on what ferts you have been using, and how frequently applied. But if there is a flavor from your smokeable which is just not quite right, it could be retained chemical compounds.
There are some who say there can be no detectable difference betweem Chems and Organics once the plant as used them, but I have done a lot of experimenting on this issue, and IMHO, the difference is significant. Infact I have found in myself and family a conciderable difference between our health on synthetic supplimentals, and how we prosper on naturally derived vit/min dietary supps...
